Abstract

An apparatus includes a ear piece case housing, a receptacle within the ear piece case housing and configured to hold an earpiece, an earpiece connector at the receptacle and configured to electrically connect with the earpiece, and electromagnetic shielding materials integrated into the ear piece case housing to electromagnetically isolate the earpiece while the earpiece is contained within the case housing. The ear piece case housing may include a charger and a removable slide cover adapted for sliding over the charger.

Claims

1. An apparatus comprising:

a ear piece case housing;

a receptacle within the ear piece case housing and configured to hold an earpiece;

an earpiece connector at the receptacle and configured to electrically connect with the earpiece;

electromagnetic shielding materials integrated into the ear piece case housing to electromagnetically isolate the earpiece while the earpiece is contained within the case housing.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the ear piece case housing comprises a charger and a removable slide cover adapted for sliding over the charger.

3. The apparatus of claim 2 wherein the removable slide cover comprises an electromagnetic shielding material.

4. The apparatus of claim 3 wherein the removable slide cover comprises a nickel alloy.

5. The apparatus of claim 4 wherein the nickel alloy comprises at least 30 percent nickel.

6. The apparatus of claim 3 wherein the removable slide cover comprises a liner.

7. The apparatus of claim 3 wherein the removable slide cover comprises a layer of metal mesh as the electromagnetic shielding material.

8. The apparatus of claim 7 wherein the layer of metal mesh is printed onto an inside surface of the removable slide cover.

9. The apparatus of claim 3 wherein the removable slide cover comprises a liner and a layer of metal mesh.

10. An apparatus comprising:

an earpiece case housing comprising a charger and a removable slide cover adapted for sliding over the charger;

a first receptacle within the ear piece case housing and configured to hold a first earpiece;

a second receptacle within the ear piece case housing and configured to hold a second earpiece;

a first earpiece connector at the receptacle and configured to electrically connect with the first earpiece;

a second earpiece connector at the receptacle and configured to electrically connect with the second earpiece;

electromagnetic shielding materials integrated into the ear piece case housing to electromagnetically isolate the earpiece while the earpiece is contained within the case housing.

11. The apparatus of claim 10 wherein the first earpiece connector and the second earpiece connector are magnetic connectors.

12. The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the slide cover comprises the electromagnetic shielding materials.

13. The apparatus of claim 12 wherein the slide cover comprises a layer of metal mesh to provide electromagnetic shielding.

14. The apparatus of claim 13 wherein the layer of metal mesh is printed on an inside surface of the slide cover.

15. The apparatus of claim 14 wherein the slide cover further comprises a liner inside of the layer of metal mesh.
