Abstract

An intelligent door lock system coupled to a door at a dwelling. a door status device is at the dwelling. The door status device is coupled to a drive shaft of a lock device to assist in locking and unlocking a lock of a lock device at the door. The lock device is coupled to the door status device and includes a bolt. An engine, an energy source and a memory are coupled together. A camera is coupled to or part of the intelligent door lock system. The camera is configured to record in response to door lock status.

Claims

1. An intelligent door lock system coupled to a door at a dwelling, comprising:

a door status device at the dwelling, the door status device being coupled to a drive shaft of a lock device to assist in locking and unlocking a lock of the lock device at the door, the lock device coupled to the door status device and includes a bolt;

an engine, an energy source and a memory coupled together; and

a camera coupled to part of the intelligent door lock system configured to record in response to door lock status.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the camera begins recording as soon as the door is opened and continues until the door is closed and locked.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the lock communicates directly to the camera.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the lock communicates with the camera via Bluetooth.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the camera begins recording as soon as the door is opened and continues recording until the door is closed.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the camera is placed inside the dwelling and position to face the door”

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the camera is configured to define a safe zone in the dwelling delimited by one or more virtual fences.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein the camera is configured to define a safe zone in a dwelling delimited by one or more virtual fences that in the event the one or more virtual fences are broken, different alerts can be activated.

9. The system of claim 1, wherein the camera is configured to define a safe zone in the dwelling delimited by one or more virtual fences that in the event the one or more virtual fences are broken, different alerts can be activated.

10. The system of claim 1, wherein the camera is configured to define a safe zone in a dwelling delimited by one or more virtual fences that when breached can provide none or more notifications to:

an occupant'"'"'s mobile device, vocal warning and a communication with authorities.

11. The system of claim 1, wherein the lock communicates information to the camera that includes multiple status data.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the multiple status data includes at least one of, if the door is open or closed and if the lock is locked or unlocked

13. The system of claim 1, wherein the camera uses input from sensors at the dwelling or included in the intelligent door lock system to decide to begin recording or not.

14. An intelligent door lock system coupled to a door at a dwelling, comprising:

an existing door lock system at the dwelling, including;

an existing door lock system with a lock device with a lock, and a drive shaft;

an intelligent door lock system retrofitted to the existing door lock system to create a retrofitted intelligent door lock system to lock and unlock the door, the intelligent door lock system including;

a door status device configured to be coupled to the drive shaft of a lock device, the door status device determining lock or unlock status of a lock device, an engine that provides power to lock and unlock the lock and coupled to the door status device a circuit coupled to the engine, an energy source coupled to the circuit and providing power to lock or unlock the door, the energy source coupled to the circuit; and

a camera coupled to part of the intelligent door lock system configured to record in response to door lock status.

15. The system of claim 14, wherein the camera begins recording as soon as the door is opened and continues until the door is closed and locked.

16. The system of claim 14, wherein the lock communicates directly to the camera.

17. The system of claim 14, wherein the lock communicates with the camera via Bluetooth.

18. The system of claim 14, wherein the camera begins recording as soon as the door is opened and continues recording until the door is closed.

19. The system of claim 14, wherein the camera is at a doorbell of the dwelling.

20. The system of claim 14, wherein the camera is configured to define a safe zone in the dwelling delimited by one or more virtual fences.

21. The system of claim 14, wherein the camera is configured to define a safe zone in the dwelling delimited by one or more virtual fences that in the event the one or more virtual fences are broken, different alerts can be activated.

22. The system of claim 14, wherein the camera is configured to define a safe zone in the dwelling delimited by one or more virtual fences that in the event the one or more virtual fences are broken, different alerts can be activated.

23. The system of claim 14, wherein the camera is configured to define a safe zone in the dwelling delimited by one or more virtual fences that when breached can provide none or more notifications to:

an occupant'"'"'s mobile device, vocal warning and a communication with authorities.

24. The system of claim 14, wherein the camera has a wide field of view.

25. The system of claim 24, wherein the wide field of view is up to 180 degrees.

26. The system of claim 24, wherein the wide field of view is at least 180 degrees.

27. The system of claim 24, wherein the wide field of view allows for viewing everything at an interior or an exterior of the dwelling.
