Abstract
Systems and methods that provide for an interactive media guidance application implemented in a user device, e.g., an app on a mobile phone. The interactive media guidance application uses the geographical location, e.g., longitude and latitude coordinates, and geospatial orientation, e.g., gyroscopic angles, of the user device to allow the user to capture images of the location in the same manner as the location was depicted in his or her favorite film or television program. The interactive media guidance application can deliver to the user the desired immersive experience where he or she sees and has the same viewpoint as the director or another person associated with the film or television program.

2. A method for recreating on a user device a reference image from a media asset, comprising:

receiving a user image captured by the user device; determining a geographical location associated with the user image; based on the determined geographical location; identifying, from a database, the reference image from the media asset; determining a first geospatial orientation associated with the user image; receiving a second geospatial orientation associated with the reference image; determining whether the first geospatial orientation matches the second geospatial orientation; based on the first geospatial orientation not matching the second geospatial orientation; determining a deviation between the first geospatial orientation and the second geospatial orientation; generating a notification for a user to change a position of the user device based on the deviation. - View Dependent Claims (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11)
