Abstract
Systems and methods are provided for selectively restricting a mobile device. In one implementation, a visual capture can be to identify one or more indicators within the visual capture. Based on the indicators, an implementation of a restriction at the mobile device can be adjusted. In another implementation inputs can be processed to compute a determination, determination reflecting at least one of the in-vehicle role of the user as a driver and the in-vehicle role of the user as a passenger; and, an operation state of the mobile device can be modified based on such a determination. According to another implementation, one or more outputs can be projected from a mobile device, inputs can be received, and such inputs and outputs can be processed to determine a correlation between them. A restriction can then be modified based on the correlation.

128. A method comprising:
-
receiving a visual capture, the visual capture originating at a mobile device, the visual capture comprising an image of an interior of a vehicle; processing the visual capture by one or more processors to identify at least two hands and a steering wheel one within the visual capture; and based on an identification of the at least two hands and the steering wheel within the visual capture, adjusting an implementation of a restriction at the mobile device. - View Dependent Claims (129, 130, 131, 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 137, 138, 139, 140, 141)

-
a processing device; and a memory coupled to the processing device and storing instructions that, when executed by the processing device, cause the system to perform operations comprising; employing a restriction at a mobile device, the restriction comprising configuring the mobile device to receive one or more first inputs only when the mobile device is oriented at a defined orientation; determining that the mobile device is oriented at the defined orientation; based on a determination that the mobile device is oriented at the defined orientation, receiving the one or more first inputs; processing the one or more first inputs to compute a determination that reflects at least one of an in-vehicle role of a user as a driver or an in-vehicle role of the user as a passenger; and modifying at least one operation state of the mobile device based on the determination that reflects the at least one of the in-vehicle role of the user as a driver or the in-vehicle role of the user as a passenger. - View Dependent Claims (143, 144, 145, 146)

147. A non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processing device, cause the processing device to perform operations comprising:
-
determining that a mobile device is positioned at a defined orientation; based on a determination that the mobile device is positioned at the defined orientation, capturing a visual capture, the visual capture comprising at least a portion of a face of a user; processing the visual capture to compute a determination that, upon capture of the visual capture, the mobile device was oriented within a defined distance from the face of the user and within a defined angle from the face of the user; and modifying at least one operation state of the mobile device based on the determination that, upon capture of the visual capture, the mobile device was oriented within the defined distance from the face of the user and within the defined angle from the face of the user.
