Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a 5G or pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data rate beyond a 4G communication system such as LTE. A method for controlling relay traffic by a base station in a wireless communication system supporting device to device (D2D) communication according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises checking whether received traffic is relay traffic; if the received traffic is the relay traffic, identifying a port number in each cluster of the relay traffic; determining the priority of the relay traffic according to the port number; and transmitting, to a relay terminal, a packet based on the determined priority.

Claims

1. A method of a base station (BS) in a wireless communication system supporting device-to-device (D2D) communication, the method comprising:

determining whether received traffic is relay traffic;

identifying a port number in each cluster of the relay traffic, if the received traffic is relay traffic;

determining a priority of the relay traffic depending on the port number; and

transmitting a packet based on the determined priority to a relay user equipment (UE).

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the priority of the relay traffic is determined based on a logical channel identifier (LCID).

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising mapping the received traffic with an evolved packet system (EPS) bearer,

wherein if there are a plurality of EPSs, a dedicated EPS bearer is allocated to the relay traffic.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein transmitting to the relay UE comprises,

transmitting a connection reconfiguration message comprising at least one of information related to the EPS bearer, information related to an LCID, and information related to the port number.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein a radio bearer configured between the relay UE and the BS supports D2D communication dedicated to the relay traffic.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the relay traffic supports D2D communication prioritized over other traffic.

7. An apparatus in a base station (BS) in a wireless communication system supporting device-to-device (D2D) communication, the apparatus comprising:

a transmitter; and

a controller configured to;

determine whether received traffic is relay traffic,

identify a port number in each cluster of the relay traffic if the received traffic is relay traffic, and

determine a priority of the relay traffic depending on the port number;

and

transmit a packet based on the determined priority to a relay user equipment (UE).

18. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the priority of the relay traffic is determined based on a logical channel identifier (LCID).

19. The apparatus of claim 7, further comprising mapping the received traffic with an evolved packet system (EPS) bearer,

wherein if there are a plurality of EPSs, a dedicated EPS bearer is allocated to the relay traffic.

20. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein transmitting to the relay UE comprises,

transmitting a connection reconfiguration message comprising at least one of information related to the EPS bearer, information related to a LCID, and information related to the port number.

8. A method of a relay user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system supporting device-to-device (D2D) communication, the method comprising:

receiving a packet from a base station (BS);

determining whether the packet is a D2D-related packet; and

transmitting the packet to a UE supporting D2D if the packet is a D2D-related packet,

wherein a priority of the packet is determined depending on a port number.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the priority of the packet is determined based on a logical channel identifier (LCID).

10. The method of claim 8, further comprising mapping the received packet with an evolved packet system (EPS) bearer,

wherein if there are a plurality of EPSs, a dedicated EPS bearer is allocated to the relay traffic.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein transmitting to the relay UE comprises, transmitting a connection reconfiguration message comprising at least one of information related to the EPS bearer, information related to an LCID, and information related to the port number.

12. The method of claim 8, wherein a radio bearer configured between the relay UE and the BS supports D2D communication dedicated to a relay traffic.

13. The method of claim 8, wherein the relay traffic supports D2D communication prioritized over other traffic.

14. An apparatus for controlling relay traffic in a relay user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system supporting device-to-device (D2D) communication, the apparatus comprising:

a transmitter; and

a controller configured to;

to receive a packet from a base station (BS);

to determine whether the packet is a D2D-related packet; and

transmit the packet to a UE supporting D2D if the packet is a D2D-related packet,

wherein a priority of the packet is determined depending on a port number.

16. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the priority of the packet is determined based on a logical channel identifier (LCID).

17. The apparatus of claim 14, further comprising mapping the packet with an evolved packet system (EPS) bearer,

wherein if there are a plurality of EPSs, a dedicated EPS bearer is allocated to the packet.

15. A method of a base station (BS) in a wireless communication system supporting device-to-device (D2D) communication, the method comprising:

creating a radio bearer;

identifying a logical channel identifier (LCID) of a packet if the packet is received from a relay user equipment (UE); and

mapping the LCID with a target evolved packet system (EPS) bearer.
