Abstract

A method, medium, and apparatus encoding and/or decoding an image in order to increase encoding and decoding efficiency by performing binary-arithmetic coding/decoding on a binary value of a syntax element using a probability model having the same syntax element probability value for respective context index information of each of at least two image components.

Claims

1. A method of encoding an image, the method comprising

obtaining a predicted direction of luma component of a current image;

obtaining a predicted direction of chroma components corresponding to the predicted direction of luma component in one of predetermined encoding modes; and

encoding the current image based on the predicted image of the current image, wherein the predicted image of the current image is generated based on the predicted direction of the luma and the predicted direction of chroma components,

wherein the predicted direction of chroma components is identical to the predicted direction of the luma component.

2. An apparatus for encoding an image, the apparatus comprising:

a processor to obtain a predicted direction of luma component of a current image and a predicted direction of chroma components corresponding to the predicted direction of luma component in one of predetermined encoding modes; and

an encoder to encode the current image based on a predicted image of the current image, wherein the predicted image of the current image is based on the predicted direction of the luma component and the predicted direction of chroma components,

wherein the predicted direction of chroma components is identical to the predicted direction of the luma component.

3. An apparatus of encoding an image, the apparatus comprising:

a processor to obtain a predicted direction of a luma component of a current block, to obtain a predicted direction of a chroma component corresponding to the predicted direction of the luma component according to one of predetermined encoding modes, to generate a bitstream including information about quantized transformation coefficients in a block based on a predicted block of the current block, wherein the predicted block is generated based on the predicted direction of the luma component and the predicted direction of chroma components,

wherein the predicted direction of chroma components is identical to the predicted direction of the luma component.

4. A method of encoding an image, the method comprising

obtaining a predicted direction of a luma component of a current block;

obtaining a predicted direction of a chroma component corresponding to the predicted direction of the luma component according to one of predetermined encoding modes;

generating a bitstream including information about quantized transformation coefficients in a block based on a predicted block of the current block, wherein the predicted block is generated based on the predicted direction of the luma component and the predicted direction of the chroma components,

wherein the predicted direction of chroma components is identical to the predicted direction of the luma component.

5. A method of encoding an image, the method comprising:

obtaining a predicted direction of a luma component of a current block;

obtaining a predicted direction of a chroma component corresponding to the predicted direction of the luma component among a plurality of predicted directions according to one of predetermined encoding modes;

generating information indicating whether at least one coefficient of which value is non-zero is included in a transform block of a predetermined size;

generating information about quantized transformation coefficients in the transform block based on a predicted block of the current block, wherein the predicted block is generated based on the predicted direction of the luma component and the predicted direction of the chroma components; and

generating a bitstream including and the information indicating whether the at least one coefficient of which value is non-zero is included in the transform block and the information about the quantized transformation coefficients,

wherein the predicted direction of the chroma component is identical to the predicted direction of the luma component.

6. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a bitstream comprising:

an encoded current image,

wherein a predicted direction of luma component of a current image is obtained,

wherein a predicted direction of chroma components corresponding to the predicted direction of luma component is obtained in one of predetermined encoding modes, wherein the encoded current image is encoded based on the predicted image of the current image,

wherein the predicted image of the current image is generated based on the predicted direction of the luma component and the predicted direction of chroma components, and

wherein the predicted direction of chroma components is identical to the predicted direction of the luma component.

7. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a bitstream comprising:

information about quantization transformation coefficients in a block, wherein the quantization transformation coefficients are generated based on a predicted block of a current block,

wherein a predicted direction of a luma component of the current block is obtained,

wherein a predicted direction of a chroma component corresponding to the predicted direction of the luma component is obtained according to one of predetermined encoding modes,

wherein the predicted block is generated based on the predicted direction of the luma component and the predicted direction of chroma components, and

wherein the predicted direction of chroma components is identical to the predicted direction of the luma component.

8. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a bitstream comprising:

information indicating whether at least one coefficient of which value is non-zero is included in a transform block of a predetermined size; and

information about quantized transformation coefficients in the transform block, wherein the quantized transformation coefficients are generated based on a predicted block of a current block,

wherein a predicted direction of a luma component of a current block is obtained,

wherein a predicted direction of a chroma component corresponding to the predicted direction of the luma component among a plurality of predicted directions is obtained according to one of predetermined encoding modes,

wherein the predicted block is generated based on the predicted direction of the luma component and the predicted direction of the chroma components, and

wherein the predicted direction of the chroma component is identical to the predicted direction of the luma component.

9. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a bitstream comprising:

an encoded current image,

wherein a predicted direction of luma component of a current image is obtained,

wherein a predicted direction of chroma components corresponding to the predicted direction of luma component is obtained in one of predetermined encoding modes, wherein the encoded current image is encoded by transforming and quantizing coefficients regarding the current image, wherein the coefficients are generated based on the predicted image of the current image,

wherein the predicted image of the current image is generated based on the predicted direction of the luma component and the predicted direction of chroma components, and

wherein the predicted direction of chroma components is identical to the predicted direction of the luma component.

10. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a bitstream comprising:

an encoded current image,

wherein a predicted direction of luma component of the current image is obtained,

wherein a predicted direction of chroma components corresponding to the predicted direction of luma component is obtained in one of predetermined encoding modes, wherein the encoded current image is encoded by transforming, quantizing, and entropy coding coefficients regarding the current image, wherein the coefficients are generated based on the predicted image of the current image,

wherein the predicted image of the current image is generated based on the predicted direction of the luma component and the predicted direction of chroma components, and

wherein the predicted direction of chroma components is identical to the predicted direction of the luma component.
