Abstract

An integrated power-regulating charge system is an apparatus used to manage the flow of electrical power to the rechargeable battery of a connected electrical system. To accomplish this, the integrated power-regulating charge module includes an electrical input terminal, an output terminal, a shutoff switch, a microcontroller, and a wireless communication module. The electrical input terminal is used to connect the integrated power-regulating charge system to the power input terminal of the electrical system. The output terminal is used to transfer power from the integrated power-regulating charge system into the connected electrical system. The shutoff switch is electrically connected between the electrical input terminal and the output terminal and is used to open the circuit between these two components. The microcontroller directs the shutoff switch be opened or closed. The wireless communication module receives commands that are wirelessly transmitted to the microcontroller from external electrical systems.

Claims

1. An integrated power-regulating charge system comprising:

an electrical input terminal;

an output terminal;

a shutoff switch;

a microcontroller;

a wireless communication module;

the electrical input terminal being electrically connected to the output terminal through the shutoff switch;

the microcontroller being electronically connected to the shutoff switch; and

the wireless communication module being electronically connected to the microcontroller.

2. The integrated power-regulating charge system as claimed in claim 1 comprising:

a semiconductor substrate;

the shutoff switch, the microcontroller, the wireless communication module, the electrical input terminal, and the electrical output terminal being operatively coupled to the semiconductor substrate, wherein the semiconductor substrate establishes electrical connections between the shutoff switch, the microcontroller, the wireless communication module, the electrical input terminal, and the electrical output terminal to form an integrated circuit;

the electrical input terminal being externally mounted onto the semiconductor substrate;

the output terminal being externally mounted onto the semiconductor substrate; and

the output terminal being positioned offset from the electrical input terminal, across the semiconductor substrate;

3. The integrated power-regulating charge system as claimed in claim 1 comprising:

a rectifier;

a voltage regulator;

the rectifier being electrically connected to the voltage regulator; and

the rectifier and the voltage regulator being electrically integrated in between the electrical input terminal and the output terminal.

4. The integrated power-regulating charge system as claimed in claim 3 comprising:

the rectifier and the voltage regulator being electrically integrated in between the electrical input terminal and the shutoff switch.

5. The integrated power-regulating charge system as claimed in claim 1, the output terminal being an electrical contact terminal.

6. The integrated power-regulating charge system as claimed in claim 1 comprising:

a display device; and

the display device being electronically connected to the microcontroller.

7. The integrated power-regulating charge system as claimed in claim 6 comprising:

a casing;

the electrical input terminal, the output terminal, the shutoff switch, the microcontroller and the wireless communication module being mounted within the casing; and

the display device being externally mounted to the casing.

8. A system of implementing an integrated power-regulating charge system as claimed in claim 1 comprising:

a mobile computing device;

the mobile computing device comprising a portable power source and a charging terminal;

the electrical input terminal being electrically connected to the charging terminal;

the output terminal being operatively coupled to a portable power source, wherein the output terminal being used to recharge the portable power source; and

the mobile computing device being communicably coupled to the microcontroller through the wireless communication module.

9. The system of implementing the integrated power-regulating charge system as claimed in claim 8 comprising:

a power cord; and

the charging terminal being electrically connected to an external power source by the power cord.

10. An integrated power-regulating charge system comprising:

an electrical input terminal;

a rectifier;

a voltage regulator;

an output terminal;

a shutoff switch;

a microcontroller;

a wireless communication module;

the electrical input terminal being electrically connected to the output terminal through the shutoff switch;

the microcontroller being electronically connected to the shutoff switch;

the wireless communication module being electronically connected to the microcontroller;

the rectifier being electrically connected to the voltage regulator;

the rectifier and the voltage regulator being electrically integrated in between the electrical input terminal and the output terminal; and

the rectifier and the voltage regulator being electrically integrated in between the electrical plug and the shutoff switch.

11. The integrated power-regulating charge system as claimed in claim 10 comprising:

a semiconductor substrate;

the shutoff switch, the microcontroller, the wireless communication module, the electrical input terminal, and the electrical output terminal being operatively coupled to the semiconductor substrate, wherein the semiconductor substrate establishes electrical connections between the shutoff switch, the microcontroller, the wireless communication module, the electrical input terminal, and the electrical output terminal to form an integrated circuit;

the electrical input terminal being externally mounted onto the semiconductor substrate;

the output terminal being externally mounted onto the semiconductor substrate;

the output terminal being positioned offset from the electrical input terminal, across the semiconductor substrate;

12. The integrated power-regulating charge system as claimed in claim 10, the output terminal being an electrical receptacle.

13. The integrated power-regulating charge system as claimed in claim 10 comprising:

a display device; and

the display device being electronically connected to the microcontroller.

14. The integrated power-regulating charge system as claimed in claim 13 comprising:

a casing;

the electrical input terminal, the rectifier, the voltage regulator, the output terminal, the shutoff switch, the microcontroller and the wireless communication module being mounted within the casing; and

the display device being externally mounted to the casing.

15. A system of implementing an integrated power-regulating charge system as claimed in claim 10 comprising:

a mobile computing device;

the mobile computing device comprising a portable power source and a charging terminal;

the electrical input terminal being electrically connected to the charging terminal;

the output terminal being operatively coupled to the portable power source;

the output terminal being used to recharge the portable power source; and

the mobile computing device being communicably coupled to the microcontroller through the wireless communication module.

16. The system of implementing the integrated power-regulating charge system as claimed in claim 15 comprising:

a power cord; and

the charging terminal being electrically connected to an external power source by the power cord.
