Abstract

A computer implemented method including generating, by one or more processors, an activation request, receiving, from a user device, an activation confirmation, configuring a protection account specific to the user, where configuring the protection account comprises, identifying one or more of the user'"'"'s social network accounts, authenticating one or more of the user'"'"'s social network accounts, and generating a protection portal for the user, providing a link to the protection portal to the user, and providing one or more alerts to the user on the protection portal, wherein the one or more alerts identify security risks associated with one or more of the user'"'"'s social network accounts.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented method comprising:

generating, by one or more processors, an activation request;

receiving, from a user device, an activation confirmation;

configuring a protection account specific to the user, wherein configuring the protection account comprises;

identifying one or more of the user'"'"'s social network accounts;

authenticating one or more of the user'"'"'s social network accounts, and generating a protection portal for the user;

providing a link to the protection portal to the user; and

providing one or more alerts to the user on the protection portal, wherein the one or more alerts identify security risks associated with one or more of the user'"'"'s social network accounts.

2. The method of claim 1 further comprising, scanning data that is maintained on the one or more social networks, wherein scanning data that is maintained on the one or more social networks comprises identifying, by one or more processors, data that is associated with the one or more social entities.

3. The method of claim 2 wherein scanning data that is maintained on the one or more social networks is performed on a continuous basis, without user initiation.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein generating an activation request comprises generating a user specific activation URL for a user associated with a corporate entity.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein providing one or more alerts to the user comprises providing the user with alerts to security risks personalized to the user.

6. The method of claim 1 further comprising, receiving personal identifying data from the user.

7. The method of claim 6 wherein the personal identifying data includes the user'"'"'s email address.

8. The method of claim 6 wherein the personal identifying data includes one or more images of the user.

9. The method of claim 6 wherein the personal identifying data includes one or more aliases of the user.

10. The method of claim 1 wherein the one or more alerts identify security risks selecting from the group consisting of social media based impersonation risks, phishing risks, social engineering risks, and malware risks.

11. A system comprising:

one or more processing devices; and

one or more non-transitory computer-readable media coupled to the one or more processing devices having instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the one or more processing devices, cause the one or more processing devices to perform operations comprising;

generating, by one or more processors, an activation request;

receiving, from a user device, an activation confirmation;

configuring a protection account specific to the user, wherein configuring the protection account comprises;

identifying one or more of the user'"'"'s social network accounts,

authenticating one or more of the user'"'"'s social network accounts, and generating a protection portal for the user;

providing a link to the protection portal to the user; and

providing one or more alerts to the user on the protection portal, wherein the one or more alerts identify security risks associated with one or more of the user'"'"'s social network accounts.

The system of claim 11 further comprising, scanning data that is maintained on the one or more social networks, wherein scanning data that is maintained on the one or more social networks comprises identifying, by one or more processors, data that is associated with the one or more social entities.

13. The system of claim 11 wherein scanning data that is maintained on the one or more social networks is performed on a continuous basis, without user initiation.

14. The system of claim 11 wherein generating an activation request comprises generating a user specific activation URL for a user associated with a corporate entity.

15. The system of claim 11 wherein providing one or more alerts to the user comprises providing the user with alerts to security risks personalized to the user.

16. The system of claim 11 further comprising, receiving personal identifying data from the user.

17. The system of claim 16 wherein the personal identifying data includes the user'"'"'s email address.

18. The system of claim 16 wherein the personal identifying data includes one or more aliases of the user.

19. The system of claim 11 wherein the one or more alerts identify security risks selecting from the group consisting of social media based impersonation risks, phishing risks, social engineering risks, and malware risks.

20. A non-transitory computer-readable storage device encoded with a computer program, the program comprising instructions that when executed by a data processing apparatus cause the data processing apparatus to perform operations comprising:

generating, by one or more processors, an activation request;

receiving, from a user device, an activation confirmation;

configuring a protection account specific to the user, wherein configuring the protection account comprises;

identifying one or more of the user'"'"'s social network accounts,

authenticating one or more of the user'"'"'s social network accounts, and generating a protection portal for the user;

providing a link to the protection portal to the user; and

providing one or more alerts to the user on the protection portal, wherein the one or more alerts identify security risks associated with one or more of the user'"'"'s social network accounts.
