1. A process for producing monoaromatic hydrocarbons from a hydrocarbon feed comprising polyaromatics, the process comprising:
- contacting the feed in the presence of hydrogen with a M/zeolite catalyst at a pressure of ambient-65 bara, a temperature of 350-500°
C., a WHSV of 0.1-10 h−
1 and a H2/HC ratio of 1-20,wherein said M/zeolite catalyst comprises0.05-2.5 wt-% of element M, wherein said element M is one or more elements selected from Group 10 of the Periodic Table of Elements; and
an aluminosilicate zeolite having a pore size of 6-8 Å and
a SiO2/Al2O3 ratio of 50-120.
