Abstract

A touch panel capable of performing display and sensing along a curved surface or a touch panel that maintains high detection sensitivity even when it is curved along a curved surface is provided. A flexible display panel is placed along a curved portion included in a surface of a support. A first film layer is attached along a surface of the display panel by a bonding layer. Second to n-th film layers (n is an integer of 2 or more) are sequentially attached along a surface of the first film layer by bonding layers. A flexible touch sensor is attached along a surface of the n-th film layer by a bonding layer.

Claims

1. An electronic device comprising:

a housing;

a display panel over the housing;

a first insulating film over the display panel;

a first bonding layer over and in contact with the first insulating film;

a second insulating film over and in contact with the first bonding layer;

a second bonding layer over and in contact with the second insulating film; and

a touch sensor over and in contact with the second bonding layer,

wherein the display panel comprises a curved surface,

wherein the touch sensor and the curved surface of the display panel overlap each other,

wherein the first insulating film and the second insulating film comprises a same material, and

wherein the first bonding layer and the second bonding layer comprises a same material.

2. The electronic device according to claim 1,

wherein a thickness of the display panel is in a range of 1 μ

m to 300 μ

m,

wherein a thickness of the touch sensor is in a range of 1 μ

m to 300 μ

m, and

wherein a thickness of each of the first insulating film and the second insulating film is in a range of 1 μ

m to 300 μ

m.

3. The electronic device according to claim 1, wherein a thickness of each of the first bonding layer and the second bonding layer is in a range of 300 nm to 300 μ

m.

4. The electronic device according to claim 1, wherein each of the first bonding layer and the second bonding layer comprises a light-scattering material.

5. The electronic device according to claim 1, further comprising:

a third insulating film over the touch sensor; and

a third bonding layer over and in contact with the third insulating film,

wherein the third insulating film and the second insulating film comprises a same material, and

wherein the third bonding layer and the second bonding layer comprises a same material.

6. The electronic device according to claim 1, wherein the display panel comprises an organic EL element.

7. An electronic device comprising:

a housing;

a display panel over the housing, the display panel comprising a flexible substrate, a display element, and a transistor electrically connected to the display element;

a first insulating film over the display panel;

a first bonding layer over and in contact with the first insulating film;

a second insulating film over and in contact with the first bonding layer;

a second bonding layer over and in contact with the second insulating film; and

a touch sensor over and in contact with the second bonding layer,

wherein the display panel comprises a curved surface,

wherein the touch sensor and the curved surface of the display panel overlap each other,

wherein the first insulating film and the second insulating film comprises a same material, and

wherein the first bonding layer and the second bonding layer comprises a same material.

8. The electronic device according to claim 7,

wherein a thickness of the display panel is in a range of 1 μ

m to 300 μ

m,

wherein a thickness of the touch sensor is in a range of 1 μ

m to 300 μ

m, and

wherein a thickness of each of the first insulating film and the second insulating film is in a range of 1 μ

m to 300 μ

m.

9. The electronic device according to claim 7, wherein a thickness of each of the first bonding layer and the second bonding layer is in a range of 300 nm to 300 μ

m.

10. The electronic device according to claim 7, wherein each of the first bonding layer and the second bonding layer comprises a light-scattering material.

11. The electronic device according to claim 7, further comprising:

a third insulating film over the touch sensor; and

a third bonding layer over and in contact with the third insulating film,

wherein the third insulating film and the second insulating film comprises a same material, and

wherein the third bonding layer and the second bonding layer comprises a same material.

12. The electronic device according to claim 7, wherein the display element is an organic EL element.

13. An electronic device comprising:

a housing;

a display panel over the housing, the display panel comprising a flexible substrate, a display element, and a transistor electrically connected to the display element;

a first insulating film over the display panel;

a first bonding layer over and in contact with the first insulating film;

a second insulating film over and in contact with the first bonding layer;

a second bonding layer over and in contact with the second insulating film; and

a touch sensor over and in contact with the second bonding layer,

wherein the display panel comprises a plurality of curved regions,

wherein the touch sensor and the plurality of curved regions of the display panel overlap each other,

wherein the first insulating film and the second insulating film comprises a same material, and

wherein the first bonding layer and the second bonding layer comprises a same material.

14. The electronic device according to claim 13,

wherein a thickness of the display panel is in a range of 1 μ

m to 300 μ

m,

wherein a thickness of the touch sensor is in a range of 1 μ

m to 300 μ

m, and

wherein a thickness of each of the first insulating film and the second insulating film is in a range of 1 μ

m to 300 μ

m.

15. The electronic device according to claim 13, wherein a thickness of each of the first bonding layer and the second bonding layer is in a range of 300 nm to 300 μ

m.

16. The electronic device according to claim 13, wherein each of the first bonding layer and the second bonding layer comprises a light-scattering material.

17. The electronic device according to claim 13, further comprising:

a third insulating film over the touch sensor; and

a third bonding layer over and in contact with the third insulating film,

wherein the third insulating film and the second insulating film comprises a same material, and

wherein the third bonding layer and the second bonding layer comprises a same material.

18. The electronic device according to claim 13, wherein the display element is an organic EL element.
