Abstract

A method and apparatus for performing load re-balancing for the dedicated core network in a wireless communication system is provided. An evolved NodeB (eNB) which supports a dedicated core network receives a mobility management entity group identity (MMEGI) of an MME pool, corresponding to the dedicated core network, from a UE which is attached to a first MME of the MME pool. The eNB redirects the UE to a second MME of the MME pool by using the MMEGI of the MME pool.

Claims

1. A method for performing, by an evolved NodeB (eNB) supporting a dedicated core network, load re-balancing for the dedicated core network in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

receiving a mobility management entity group identity (MMEGI) of an MME pool, corresponding to the dedicated core network, from a UE which is attached to a first MME of the MME pool; and

redirecting the UE to a second MME of the MME pool by using the MMEGI of the MME pool.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the MMEGI of the MME pool is received from the UE via a radio resource control (RRC) Connection Setup Complete message.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the MMEGI of the MME pool is included in a globally unique MME identity (GUMMEI) corresponding to the first MME.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving a cause value indicating load re-balancing for the dedicated core network from the first MME.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the cause value is received from the first MME via an S1 UE Context Release Command message.

6. The method of claim 4, further comprising transmitting the cause value to the UE.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the cause value is transmitted to the UE via an RRC Connection Release message.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving a cause value indicating load re-balancing from the first MME.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising transmitting information indicating whether or not the eNB supports the dedicated core network functionality to the UE.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the information is transmitted via a system information block (SIB).

11. A method for transmitting, by a user equipment (UE), a mobility management entity group identity (MMEGI) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

receiving an indication related to a dedicated core network from an evolved NodeB (eNB); and

transmitting an MMEGI of an MME pool corresponding to the dedicated core network to the eNB according to the indication.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the indication is a cause value indicating load re-balancing for the dedicated core network, and

the cause value is received via a radio resource control (RRC) Connection Release message.

13. The method of claim 11, wherein the indication is information indicating whether or not the eNB supports the dedicated core network functionality, and

the information is received via a system information block (SIB).

14. The method of claim 13, wherein when the information indicates that the eNB supports the dedicated core network functionality, the MMEGI of the MME pool is transmitted.

15. The method of claim 11, wherein the MMEGI of the MME pool is transmitted via a radio resource control (RRC) Connection Setup Complete message.
