Abstract

A user equipment (UE) in communication with a base station is configured by the base station for operation with an adapted time division duplex (TDD) uplink-downlink (UL-DL) configuration. A process enables UL power control for transmissions of various channels or signals from the UE in two different sets of UL transmission time intervals (TTIs) and a process enabling receptions of data transport blocks by the base station in two different sets of UL TTIs.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

receiving;

a configuration for a first set and a second set of parameter values, and

a downlink control information (DCI) format that schedules a transmission of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH);

computed a power for the PUSCH transmission using either the first set or the second set of parameter values based on a value of a field in the DCI format and

transmitting the PUSCH with the power for the PUSCH transmission.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein

the PUSCH transmission is on a cell with index c;

and

the first set and the second set of parameter values include a value for a parameter P_{O_UE_PUSCH,c} associated with a mean PUSCH reception power and a value for a parameter α

_c associated with a path-loss compensation.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving a field in the DCI format that triggers a transmission of a sounding reference signal (SRS);

computing a power for the SRS transmission using the same set of parameter values as for the power of the PUSCH transmission; and

transmitting the SRS with the transmission power for the SRS.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the field value in the DCI format is also the value for a parameter of the PUSCH transmission other than the power of the PUSCH transmission.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving;

a configuration for two accumulation states of transmit power control (TPC) command values, wherein one of the two accumulation states is used for computing the power for the PUSCH transmission based on the field value, and

a TPC command field value in the DCI format; and

computing the transmission power for the PUSCH by accumulating the TPC command value either in a first of the two accumulation states of TPC command values or in a second of the two accumulation state of TPC command values based on the field value.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein an initial value for the second accumulation state of TPC command values is a current value of the first accumulation state of TPC command values.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving;

a configuration for two accumulation states of transmit power control (TPC) command values, wherein one of the two accumulation states is used for computing the power for the PUSCH transmission based on the field value,

a configuration for a first location of a TPC command value in a DCI format providing TPC command values, and

a DCI format providing TPC command values; and

computing;

a first of the accumulation states of TPC command values by accumulating the TPC command value at the first location, and

a second of the two accumulation states of TPC command values by accumulating a TPC command value at a second location that is immediately after the first location.

8. A user equipment (UE), comprising:

a receiver configured to receive;

a configuration for a first set and a second set of parameter values, and

a downlink control information (DCI) format that schedules a transmission of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH);

a processor configured to compute a power for the PUSCH transmission using either the first set or the second set of parameter values based on a value of a field in the DCI format; and

a transmitter configured to transmit the PUSCH with the power for the PUSCH transmission.

9. The UE of claim 8, wherein

the PUSCH transmission is on a cell with index c;

and

the first set and the second set of parameter values include a value for a parameter P_{O_UE_PUSCH,c} associated with a mean PUSCH reception power and a value for a parameter α

_c associated with a path-loss compensation.

10. The UE of claim 8, wherein:

the receiver is further configured to receive a field in the DCI format that triggers a transmission of a sounding reference signal (SRS);

the processor is further configured to compute a power for the SRS transmission using the same set of parameter values as for the power of the PUSCH transmission; and

the transmitter is further configured to transmit the SRS with the transmission power for the SRS.

11. The UE of claim 8, wherein the field value in the DCI format is also the value for a parameter of the PUSCH transmission other than the power of the PUSCH transmission.

12. The UE of claim 8, wherein:

the receiver is further configured to receive;

a configuration for two accumulation states of transmit power control (TPC) command values, wherein one of the two accumulation states is used for computing the power for the PUSCH transmission based on the field value, and

a TPC command field value in the DCI format; and

the processor is further configured to compute the transmission power for the PUSCH by accumulating the TPC command value either in a first of the two accumulation states of TPC command values or in a second of the two accumulation states of TPC command values based on the field value.

13. The UE of claim 12, wherein an initial value for the second accumulation state of TPC command values is a current value of the first accumulation state of TPC command values.

14. The UE of claim 8, wherein:

the receiver is further configured to receive;

a configuration for two accumulation states of transmit power control (TPC) command values, wherein one of the two accumulation states is used for computing the power for the PUSCH transmission based on the field value,

a configuration for a first location of a TPC command value in a DCI format providing TPC command values, and

a DCI format providing TPC command values; and

the processor is further configured to compute;

a first of the two accumulation states of TPC command values by accumulating the TPC command value at the first location, and

a second of the two accumulation states of TPC command values by accumulating a TPC command value at a second location that is immediately after the first location.

15. A base station, comprising:

a transmitter configured to transmit;

a configuration for a first set and a second set of parameter values, and

a downlink control information (DCI) format that schedules a transmission of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) and includes a field with a value that indicates either the first set or the second set of parameter values for computing a power for the PUSCH transmission; and

a receiver configured to receive the PUSCH.

16. The base station of claim 15, wherein

the PUSCH reception is on a cell with index c;

and

the first set and the second set of parameter values include a value for a parameter P_{O_UE_PUSCH,c} associated with a mean PUSCH reception power and a value for a parameter α

_c associated with a path-loss compensation.

17. The base station of claim 15, wherein:

the transmitter is further configured to transmit a field in the DCI format that triggers a transmission of a sounding reference signal (SRS), wherein the same set of parameter values as for computing the power for the PUSCH transmission is used for computing a power for the SRS transmission; and

the receiver is further configured to receive the SRS.

18. The base station of claim 15, wherein the field value in the DCI format is also the value for a parameter of the PUSCH transmission other than the power of the PUSCH transmission.

19. The base station of claim 15, wherein the transmitter is further configured to transmit:

a configuration for two accumulation states of transmit power control (TPC) command values, wherein one of the two accumulation states is used for computing the power for the PUSCH transmission, and

a TPC command value in the DCI format, wherein the TPC command value is accumulated either in the first accumulation state of TPC command values or in the second accumulation state of TPC command values based on the field value.

20. The base station of claim 15, wherein:

the transmitter is further configured to transmit;

a configuration for two accumulation states of transmit power control (TPC) command values, wherein one of the two accumulation states is used for computing the power for the PUSCH transmission,

a configuration for a first location of a TPC command value in a DCI format providing TPC commands, and

a DCI format providing TPC command values,

wherein the TPC command value at the first location is accumulated in a first of the accumulation states of TPC command values and a TPC command value at a location immediately after the first location is accumulated in a second of the two accumulation states of TPC command values.
