1. A method for wireless communications by a base station (BS), comprising:
- determining a first control resource set (coreset) of time and frequency resources within a control region of a system bandwidth, to transmit a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) to a user equipment (UE); and
transmitting the PDCCH to the UE as a single-carrier waveform via the first coreset of time and frequency resources.

Abstract
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to communication systems, and more particularly, to a control resource set (coreset) for transmitting physical downlink control channels using a single-carrier waveform in communications systems operating according to new radio (NR) technologies. In an exemplary method, a base station may determine a first control resource set (coreset) of time and frequency resources within a control region of system bandwidth, to transmit a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) to a user equipment (UE) and transmit the PDCCH to the UE as a single-carrier waveform via the first coreset of time and frequency resources.
