Abstract

The invention relates to a balloon catheter, in particular for the widening of stents in fenestrations, being provided with a first inner balloon (4), a second outer balloon (5), with said second balloon (5) completely enclosing the first balloon (4), separate supply lines in the catheter (2) leading to the first (4) and second balloon (5), which allow the balloons (4, 5) to be pressurized independently of one another, a central lumen (3) for a guidewire, wherein in the expanded state, both balloons (4, 5) in the proximal region (P) have a diameter which is enlarged in relation to that of the distal region (D).

Claims

1. Balloon catheter, in particular for the widening of stents in fenestrations, being provided with a first inner balloon (4), a second outer balloon, with said second balloon (5) completely enclosing the first balloon (4), separate supply lines in the catheter leading to the first and second balloon (5), which allow the balloons (4, 5) to be pressurized independently of one another, a central lumen (3) for a guidewire, characterized in that in the expanded state, both balloons (4, 5) in the proximal region (P) have a diameter which is enlarged in relation to the distal region (D).

2. Balloon catheter according to claim 1, characterized in that the balloons (4, 5) are provided with a graduation or steplike configuration.

3. Balloon catheter according to claim 1, characterized in that the proximal region (P) of both balloons (4, 5) is expanded by 30% to 100% relative to the distal region (D).

4. Balloon catheter according to claim 1, characterized in that the flanks (6, 7) of the enlarged proximal region (P) are steeply rising.

5. Balloon catheter according to claim 4, characterized in that the flank rise ranges between 45 and 75°

relative to the catheter axis.

6. Balloon catheter according to claim 1, characterized in that, in the expanded state, the inner balloon (4) has a larger diameter than the outer balloon (5) in the transition region (F) between the proximal (P) and distal region (D).

7. Balloon catheter according to claim 6, characterized in that the inner balloon (4) is expanded in the transition region (F) by 25% to 40% compared with the distal region (D).

8. Balloon catheter according to claim 4, characterized in that the flank rise is uniform on both sides of the proximal region (P).

9. Balloon catheter according to claim 1, characterized in that the first balloon (4) is connected to the second balloon (5) in the distal region (D).

10. Balloon catheter according to claim 9, characterized in that the first balloon (4) is welded to the second balloon (5) in the distal region (D).

11. Balloon catheter according to claim 9, characterized in that the first balloon (4) is welded to the second balloon (5) over the entire length of distal region (D).

12. Balloon catheter according to claim 9, characterized in that the first balloon (4) is spot-welded in the distal region (D) to the second balloon (5), with the proximal region (P) of the second balloon (5) being separated from the distal region (D) of the second balloon (5) by the weld seam.

13. Balloon catheter according to claim 12, characterized in that the first balloon (4) has drawn-in portions (8) in the distal region (D) and is welded to the second balloon (5) at the contact points of peaks (9).

14. Balloon catheter according to claim 1 with crimped-on stent.

15. Balloon catheter according to claim 6 with crimped-on stent.

16. Balloon catheter according to claim 9 with crimped-on stent.

17. Balloon catheter according to claim 12 with crimped-on stent.
