Abstract

A display control apparatus includes a display control unit for controlling a display unit for displaying an image, the display control unit being configured to display a plurality of represented images that represent a plurality of image groups classified depending on related information of the images on the display unit in a first display mode, and display related images relating to the represented images between a plurality of the represented images displayed in the first display mode depending on a user input on the display unit in a second display mode.

2. A display control apparatus, comprising:

a display control unit for controlling a display unit for displaying images, the display control unit being configured to;

display a plurality of represented images in a category that represents a plurality of image groups, the plurality of represented images being classified depending on related information of the images on the display unit in a first display mode,

superimpose at least one related image in a set of related images relating to each represented image on the each represented image displayed as being background images in the first display mode, and

display a first portion of the set of related images for one of the image groups in a second display mode depending on a first user input, the first portion of the set of related images being positioned between the represented image relating to the set of related images and another represented image of the image groups displayed in the first display mode.

3. The display control apparatus of claim 2, wherein, in the second display mode, the first portion of the set of related images are arranged in a large size image display area and a small size image display area.

4. The display control apparatus of claim 3, wherein the large size image display area displays a single image, and wherein the small size image display area displays a plurality of images.

5. The display control apparatus of claim 2, wherein, in the second display mode, a map corresponding to the set of related images is displayed.

6. The display control apparatus of claim 5, wherein the map is displayed between the represented image relating to the set of related images and the first portion of the set of related images.

7. The display control apparatus of claim 5, wherein a location where at least one image of the set of related images was captured is displayed on the map.

8. The display control apparatus of claim 2, wherein the display control unit is further configured to:

display a second portion of the set of related images in a third display mode depending on a second user input.

9. The display control apparatus of claim 2, wherein the display control unit is further configured to:

display a plurality of maps corresponding to the plurality of image groups displayed in the first display mode, wherein a map corresponding to the one of the image groups is positioned between the represented image relating to the set of related images and the other represented image of the image groups.

10. The display control apparatus of claim 2, wherein the related information of the images includes one or more of:

a percentage of a face occupying an image, whether a face is smiling, an orientation of a face relative to the image, and a number of persons in an image.

11. The display control apparatus of claim 10, wherein images in the set of related images are assigned a score based on the related information.

12. The display control apparatus of claim 11, wherein an image having a highest score among the set of related images is selected as the represented image.

16. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

displaying a map corresponding to the set of related images is displayed.

18. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

displaying, in a third display mode, a second portion of the set of related images depending on a second user input.

20. The method of claim 18, further comprising:

assigning, to each image in the set of related images, a score based on the related information; and

selecting an image having a highest score among the set of related images as the represented image.

13. A method of controlling a display, comprising:

displaying a plurality of represented images in a category that represents a plurality of image groups, the plurality of represented images being classified depending on related information of the images on the display unit in a first display mode;

superimposing at least one related image in a set of related images relating to each represented image on the each represented image displayed as being background images in the first display mode;

displaying a first portion of the set of related images for one of the image groups in a second display mode depending on a first user input, the first portion of the set of related images being positioned between the represented image relating to the set of related images and another represented image of the image groups displayed in the first display mode.

14. The method of claim 13, wherein, in the second display move, the first portion of the set of related images are arranged in a large size image display area and a small size image display area.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the large size image display area displays a single image, and wherein the small size image display area displays a plurality of images.

17. The method of claim 15, wherein a location where at least one image of the set of related images was captured is displayed on the map.

19. The method of claim 13, wherein the related information of the images includes one or more of:

a percentage of a face occupying an image, whether a face is smiling, an orientation of a face relative to the image, and a number of persons in an image.

21. A non-transitory computer readable medium storing display control program code executable by a computer to perform operation comprising:

displaying a plurality of represented images in a category that represents a plurality of image groups, the plurality of represented images being classified depending on related information of the images on the display unit in a first display mode,

superimposing at least one related image in a set of related images relating to each represented image on the each represented image displayed as being background images in the first display mode;

displaying a first portion of the set of related images for one of the image groups in a second display mode depending on a first user input, the first portion of the set of related images being positioned between the represented image relating to the set of related images and another represented image of the image groups displayed in the first display mode.
