1. A wireless patient monitoring system configured to improve battery performance, the wireless patient monitoring system comprising:
- a battery;
an optical sensor configured to obtain photoplethysmographs, the optical sensor including at least one emitter configured to emit light and at least one detector configured to detect said light after attenuation by tissue of a user, said photoplethysmographs responsive to said detected light;
a sensor signal processor configured to at least partially process said photoplethysmographs received from the optical sensor; and
a wireless transmitter configured to wirelessly transmit said at least partially processed photoplethysmographs to a second device including a display, a user interface and a device signal processor, the second device configured to receive said at least partially processed photoplethysmographs, the device signal processor configured to further process said at least partially processed photoplethysmographs, said further processing includes determining one or more physiological measurements responsive to said at least partially processed photoplethysmographs, the second device further configured to display said one or more physiological measurements on said display.
