Abstract

A hydraulic port collar includes a housing having one or more housing ports. The hydraulic port collar includes a port collar bore disposed within the housing forming an inner surface of the housing. The hydraulic port collar includes a sliding sleeve disposed within the port collar bore. The sliding sleeve has a sliding sleeve inner surface and a sliding sleeve outer surface. The hydraulic port collar includes a dissolvable or fragmentable landing seat radially aligned with and abutting the sliding sleeve inner surface.

Claims

1. A hydraulic port collar comprising:

a housing, the housing including one or more housing ports;

a port collar bore disposed within the housing, the port collar bore forming an inner surface of the housing;

a sliding sleeve disposed within the port collar bore, the sliding sleeve having a sliding sleeve inner surface and a sliding sleeve outer surface;

a dissolvable landing seat, the dissolvable landing seat radially aligned with and abutting the sliding sleeve inner surface, the dissolvable landing seat formed from a material that selectively at least partially dissolves.

2. The hydraulic port collar of claim 1, wherein the housing comprises an upper housing section and a lower housing section.

3. The hydraulic port collar of claim 1, wherein the housing inner surface further comprises an upper shoulder and a lower shoulder.

4. The hydraulic port collar of claim 1, wherein the hydraulic port collar includes a single sliding sleeve.

5. The hydraulic port collar of claim 1, wherein the sliding sleeve is adapted to traverse the port collar bore between the upper shoulder and lower shoulder.

6. The hydraulic port collar of claim 1 further comprising an accumulator, the accumulator formed between the housing inner surface and the sliding sleeve outer surface.

7. The hydraulic port collar of claim 1 further comprising one or more shear pins, the one or more shear pins extending from the inner surface of the housing, the shear pins interfacing with shear pin holes located on the sliding sleeve outer surface.

8. The hydraulic port collar of claim 1 further comprising a locking assembly, the locking assembly position on the sliding sleeve outer surface, the locking assembly adapted to be received within a locking assembly notch, the locking assembly notch located along the housing inner surface.

9. The hydraulic port collar of claim 8, wherein the locking assembly is a C-ring.

11. The hydraulic port collar of claim 1 further comprising a dissolvable ball, the dissolvable ball seated on the dissolvable landing seat.

12. The hydraulic port collar of claim 1 further comprising a dissolvable contingency opening seat, the dissolvable contingency opening seat radially aligned with and abutting the housing inner surface.

13. The hydraulic port collar of claim 12 further comprising a dissolvable contingency ball, the dissolvable contingency ball seated on the dissolvable contingency opening seat.

14. The hydraulic port collar of claim 1, wherein the dissolvable landing seat is formed from one or more of magnesium alloy, a composite, or SAP urethane.

15. A hydraulic port collar comprising:

a housing, the housing including one or more housing ports;

a port collar bore disposed within the housing, the port collar bore forming an inner surface of the housing;

a sliding sleeve disposed within the port collar bore, the sliding sleeve having a sliding sleeve inner surface and a sliding sleeve outer surface;

a fragmentable landing seat, the fragmentable landing seat radially aligned with and abutting the sliding sleeve inner surface, the fragmentable landing seat including a fragmentable flange and a seat body, the fragmentable flange mechanically coupled to the sliding sleeve, the fragmentable flange and seat body being selectively decoupleable.

The hydraulic port collar of claim 15, wherein the fragmentable landing seat is formed as a single member, and wherein the fragmentable landing seat comprises an annular shear slot formed in the fragmentable flange such that the fragmentable flange and seat body decouple when a preselected pressure threshold is reached.

17. The hydraulic port collar of claim 16, wherein the fragmentable landing seat further comprises a plurality of longitudinal shear slots formed in the fragmentable flange, the longitudinal shear slots formed to intersect the annular shear slot such that once the annular shear slot shears, the fragmentable flange is separated into a plurality of flange fragments.

18. The hydraulic port collar of claim 17, wherein at least one longitudinal shear slot is formed at an angle to a radius of the fragmentable flange.

19. The hydraulic port collar of claim 18, wherein at least one longitudinal shear slot is formed at an angle to a radius of the fragmentable flange that is different than the angle of a second longitudinal shear slot.

20. The hydraulic port collar of claim 15, wherein the fragmentable flange is formed separately from the seat body, wherein the fragmentable flange is mechanically coupled to the seat body by one or more temporary couplers.

The hydraulic port collar of claim 20, wherein the temporary couplers comprise one or more of shear bolts, shear pins, shear screws, wires, frangible pin, frangible ring, collet in detent groove, magnetic retainer, adhesive breakable under load, welding or brazing breakable under load, tensile stud breakable under load, or ball detents with spring.

22. The hydraulic port collar of claim 15, wherein the seat body is formed such that a ball, dart, or plug engages the seat body.

23. A method comprising:

providing a hydraulic port collar, the hydraulic port collar including;

a housing, the housing including one or more housing ports;

a port collar bore disposed within the housing, the port collar bore forming an inner surface of the housing;

a sliding sleeve disposed within the port collar bore, the sliding sleeve having a sliding sleeve inner surface and a sliding sleeve outer surface;

a dissolvable landing seat, the dissolvable landing seat radially aligned with and abutting the sliding sleeve inner surface, the dissolvable landing seat formed from a material that selectively at least partially dissolves;

positioning the hydraulic port collar within a wellbore;

pumping a ball, dart, or plug through the wellbore into engagement with the dissolvable landing seat;

increasing the pressure in the port collar bore;

shifting the sliding sleeve; and

dissolving, at least partially, the dissolvable landing seat.

24. The method of claim 23, wherein dissolving the dissolvable landing seat comprises introducing a wellbore fluid into the port collar bore at or above a pre-determined temperature.

25. The method of claim 23, wherein dissolving the dissolvable landing seat comprises introducing a wellbore fluid into the port collar bore that contains a chemical constituent designed to at least partially dissolve the dissolvable landing seat.

26. A method comprising:

providing a hydraulic port collar, the hydraulic port collar including;

a housing, the housing including one or more housing ports;

a port collar bore disposed within the housing, the port collar bore forming an inner surface of the housing;

a sliding sleeve disposed within the port collar bore, the sliding sleeve having a sliding sleeve inner surface and a sliding sleeve outer surface;

a fragmentable landing seat, the fragmentable landing seat radially aligned with and abutting the sliding sleeve inner surface, the fragmentable landing seat including a fragmentable flange and a seat body, the fragmentable flange mechanically coupled to the sliding sleeve, the fragmentable flange and seat body being selectively decoupleable;

positioning the hydraulic port collar within a wellbore;

engaging a ball, dart, or plug with the fragmentable landing seat;

increasing the pressure in the port collar bore;

shifting the sliding sleeve;

increasing the pressure in the port collar bore above a preselected threshold; and

decoupling the fragmentable flange from the seat body.

27. The method of claim 26, further comprising:

forming an annular shear slot in the fragmentable flange; and

separating the fragmentable flange from the seat body at the annular shear slot.

28. The method of claim 27, further comprising:

forming a plurality of longitudinal shear slots in the fragmentable flange such that the longitudinal shear slots intersect the annular shear slot;

separating the fragmentable flange into a plurality of flange fragments; and

allowing the flange fragments to fall into the port collar bore.

29. The method of claim 26, wherein the seat body and fragmentable flange are formed separately, and the method further comprises:

providing the seat body and fragmentable flange;

mechanically coupling the fragmentable flange to the seat body by one or more temporary couplers.

30. The method of claim 29, wherein the temporary couplers comprise one or more of shear bolts, shear pins, shear screws, wires, frangible pin, frangible ring, collet in detent groove, magnetic retainer, adhesive breakable under load, welding or brazing breakable under load, tensile stud breakable under load, or ball detents with spring.
