Abstract

A base station may transmit downlink control information (DCI) scheduling communications between the base station and a UE. The DCI is in a fallback DCI format. Based on whether or not the DCI is in a UE specific search space with cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by a UE ID of the UE, data transmitted by the base station or by the UE according to the DCI may be scrambled by a sequence that is initialized with a configurable parameter, or initialized with a cell ID.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

receiving, by a user equipment (UE), downlink control information (DCI) that schedules data communication for the UE;

receiving, by the UE, data according to the DCI; and

descrambling, by the UE, the data using a sequence that is initialized with a configurable parameter, upon detecting that the DCI is in a first format and the DCI is in a UE specific search space with cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by a UE identifier (UIEID) of the UE.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving, by the UE, the configurable parameter from a base station (BS).

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

descrambling, by the UE, the data using a sequence that is initialized with a cell ID, upon detecting that the DCI is in a common search space with the CRC scrambled by the UE ID of the UE.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

generating, by the UE, the sequence using an initialized sequence that is determined based on the configurable parameter.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the first format of the DCI is a format of DCI for fallback.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the UE ID comprises a cell-radio network temporary identifier (C-RNTI), a modulation and coding scheme-C-RNTI (MCS-C-RNTI) or a configured scheduling-RNTI (CS-RNTI).

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the sequence is initialized using an initialized sequence that is determined based on the configurable parameter represented by n_ID, and n_ID∈

{0, 1, . . . , 1023} is configured by higher-layer signaling.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the initialized sequence is determined based on the configurable parameter represented by n_ID, and wherein the initialized sequence satisfies c_init=n_RNTI·

2¹⁴+n_ID, c_init is the initialized sequence, and n_RNTI corresponds to a RNTI associated with a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein receiving the DCI comprises detecting the DCI after a radio resource control (RRC) configuration procedure is performed.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the first format comprises a DCI format 1_0 for a PDSCH.

11. An apparatus, comprising:

one or more processors, configured to couple with a non-transitory memory storage, wherein the non-transitory memory storage is configured to store instructions, which when executed, cause the one or more processors to;

receive downlink control information (DCI) that schedules data communication for the apparatus or a UE which the apparatus is used for;

receive data according to the DCI; and

descramble the data using a sequence that is initialized with a configurable parameter, upon detecting that the DCI is in a first format and the DCI is in a UE specific search space with cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by a UE identifier (UE ID) of the apparatus or the UE which the apparatus is used for.

12. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the one or more processors execute the instructions to further:

receive the configurable parameter from a base station (BS).

13. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the instructions cause the one or more processors to further:

descramble the data using a sequence that is initialized with a cell ID upon detecting that the DCI is in a common search space with the CRC scrambled by the UE ID of the apparatus or the UE which the apparatus is used for.

14. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the instructions cause the one or more processors to further:

generate an initialized sequence with the configurable parameter, wherein the data is descrambled using the sequence that is generated based on the initialized sequence.

15. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the first format of the DCI is a format of DCI for fallback.

16. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the UE ID comprises a cell-radio network temporary identifier (C-RNTI), a modulation and coding scheme-C-RNTI (MCS-C-RNTI) or a configured scheduling-RNTI (CS-RNTI).

17. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the sequence is initialized using an initialized sequence that is determined based on the configurable parameter represented by n_ID, and wherein n_ID∈

{0, 1, . . . , 1023} is configured by higher-layer signaling.

18. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the initialized sequence is determined based on the configurable parameter represented by n_ID, wherein the initialized sequence satisfies c_init=n_RNTI·

19. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein receiving the DCI comprises detecting the DCI after a radio resource control (RRC) configuration procedure is performed.

20. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the first format comprises a DCI format 1_0 for a PDSCH.

21. A non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer instructions, that when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform the steps of:

receiving downlink control information (DCI) that schedules data communication for a user equipment (UE) which the non-transitory computer-readable media is used for;

receiving data according to the DCI; and

descrambling the data using a sequence that initialized with a configurable parameter upon detecting that the DCI is in a first format and the DCI is in a UE specific search space with cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by a UE identifier (UE ID) of the UE.

22. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 21, wherein the computer instructions cause the one or more processors to further perform:

receiving the configurable parameter from a base station (BS).

23. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 21, wherein the computer instructions cause the one or more processors to further perform:

descrambling the data using a sequence that is initialized with a cell ID upon detecting that the DCI is in a common search space with the CRC scrambled by the UE ID of the UE.

24. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 21, wherein the computer instructions cause the one or more processors to further perform:

generating the sequence using an initialized sequence that is determined based on the configurable parameter.

25. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 21, wherein the first format of the DCI is a format of DCI for fallback.

26. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 21, wherein the UE ID comprises a cell-radio network temporary identifier (C-RNTI), a modulation and coding scheme-C-RNTI (MCS-C-RNTI) or a configured scheduling-RNTI (CS-RNTI).

27. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 21, wherein the sequence is initialized using an initialized sequence that is determined based on the configurable parameter represented by n_ID, and wherein n_ID∈

{0, 1, . . . , 1023} is configured by higher-layer signaling.

28. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 27, wherein the initialized sequence is determined based on the configurable parameter represented by n_ID, wherein the initialized sequence satisfies c_init=n_RNTI·

29. A system comprising:

a base station; and

a user equipment (UE), configured to communicate with the base station, wherein the UE includes one or more processors, configured to couple with a non-transitory memory storage, and wherein the non-transitory memory storage is configured to store instructions, which when executed, cause the one or more processors to;

receive, from the base station, downlink control information (DCI) that schedules data communication for the UE;

receive, from the base station, data according to the DCI; and

descramble the data using a sequence that is initialized with a configurable parameter, upon detecting that the DCI is in a first format and the DCI is in a UE specific search space with cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by a UE identifier (UE ID) of the UE.

30. The system of claim 29, wherein the one or more processors execute the instructions to further:

receive the configurable parameter from the base station.
