Abstract

A manufacturing method of a polygonal mirror using a metal mold including a first mold, a second mold, a third mold, and a fourth mold includes a step of forming the molded member by providing the third mold and the fourth mold between the first mold and the second mold in a state in which the third mold and the fourth mold are in contact with each other and then by injecting a resin material into the metal mold, and a step of separating the third mold from the first crossing surface of the molded member in a direction crossing the first crossing surface.

Claims

1. A manufacturing method of a polygonal mirror using a metal mold including,

a first mold including a first molding surface for molding one surface of a molded member for the polygonal mirror,

a second mold including a second surface for molding the other surface of the molded member on a side opposite from the one surface of the molded member,

a third mold including a third molding surface for molding a first crossing surface crossing the one surface and the other surface between the one surface and the other surface of the molded member, and

a fourth mold including a fourth molding surface for molding a second crossing surface crossing the one surface and the other surface between the one surface and the other surface of the molded member, said manufacturing method comprising:

a step of forming the molded member by providing the third mold and the fourth mold between the first mold and the second mold in a state in which the third mold and the fourth mold are in contact with each other and then by injecting a resin material into the metal mold; and

a step of separating the third mold from the first crossing surface in a direction crossing the first crossing surface of the molded member.

2. A manufacturing method of a polygonal mirror according to claim 1, wherein after said step of forming the molded member, the fourth mold is separated from the second crossing surface in a direction crossing the second crossing surface of the molded member.

3. A manufacturing method of a polygonal mirror according to claim 1, wherein the third mold is separated in a direction perpendicular to the third molding surface, and the fourth mold is separated in a direction perpendicular to the fourth molding surface.

A manufacturing method of a polygonal mirror according to claim 1, wherein when the third mold and the fourth mold are disposed between the first mold and the second mold, the third mold and the fourth mold are disposed in contact with each other so that the third molding surface and the fourth molding surface cross each other.

A manufacturing method of a polygonal mirror according to claim 1, wherein the third molding surface of the third mold and the fourth molding surface of the fourth mold are curved surfaces curved from the first molding surface toward the second molding surface when the third molding surface and the fourth molding surface are disposed between the first mold and the second mold.

A manufacturing method of a polygonal mirror according to claim 1, wherein directions in which the first crossing surface molded by the third molding surface of the third mold and the second crossing surface molded by the fourth molding surface of the fourth mold cross the one surface and the other surface of the molded member are an axial direction providing a rotation center of the molded member.

7. A polygonal mirror comprising:

a reflecting surface capable of reflecting a light flux emitted from a light source; and

a molded member molded with a resin material so as to include a first surface, a second surface on a side opposite from the first surface, and a third surface crossing the first surface and the second surface between the first surface and the second surface,

wherein the third surface is a curved surface curved from the first surface toward the second surface and is a surface where said reflecting surface is formed.

8. A polygonal mirror according to claim 7, wherein said reflecting surface includes a plurality of adjacent reflecting surfaces, and of boundary portions of said adjacent reflecting surfaces, at least two boundary portions are provided with projections.

10. A polygonal mirror according to claim 8, wherein of all the boundary portions of said adjacent reflecting surfaces are provided with projections.

17. A polygonal mirror according to claim 7, further comprising a base material made of metal inside said molded member which is molded with the resin material and which includes said reflecting surface.

18. A deflector comprising:

a polygonal mirror according to claim 7,

wherein a light flux emitted from said light source is subjected to deflection scanning by said reflecting surface of said polygonal mirror through rotation of said polygonal mirror.

19. An optical scanning apparatus comprising:

a light source; and

a deflector according to claim 18,

wherein the light flux emitted from said light source is subjected to deflection scanning on an image bearing member by said deflector.

20. An image forming apparatus comprising:

an optical scanning apparatus according to claim 19,

wherein the image bearing member is scanned with the light flux by said optical scanning apparatus, and an image is formed on a recording material on the basis of an image formed by scanning.

9. A polygonal mirror comprising:

a plurality of reflecting surfaces capable of reflecting a light flux emitted from a light source; and

a molded member molded with a resin material so as to include a first surface, a second surface on a side opposite from the first surface, and a plurality of side surfaces crossing the first surface and the second surface between the first surface and the second surface,

wherein the side surfaces are surfaces where said reflecting surfaces are formed, and

wherein of boundary portions of adjacent reflecting surfaces, at least two boundary portions are provided with projections.

11. A polygonal mirror comprising:

a plurality of reflecting surfaces capable of reflecting a light flux emitted from a light source; and

a molded member molded with a resin material so as to include a first surface, a second surface on a side opposite from the first surface, and a plurality of side surfaces crossing the first surface and the second surface between the first surface and the second surface; and

a connecting portion configured to connect end portions of one reflecting surface and the other reflecting surface of adjacent reflecting surfaces of said plurality of reflecting surfaces so as to form a space while crossing said one reflecting surface and said the other reflecting surface,

wherein said connecting portion is provided with a projection formed in the space formed by said connecting portion.

12. A polygonal mirror according to claim 11, wherein said connecting portion is provided with a projected portion where the projection is formed.

13. A polygonal mirror according to claim 11, wherein said connecting portion forms the space, between a first reflecting surface and a second reflecting surface which are adjacent to each other, defined by a point of intersection of extension lines of said first reflecting surface and said second reflecting surface, a connecting point between said first reflecting surface and said connecting portion, and a connecting point between said second reflecting surface and said connecting portion, and

wherein the projection is in the space and is disposed at said connecting portion.

A polygonal mirror according to claim 13, wherein the space formed by said connecting portion is symmetrical with respect to a rectilinear line connecting a rotation center of said polygonal mirror with the point of intersection of the extension lines of said first reflecting surface and said second reflecting surface.

15. A polygonal mirror according to claim 11, wherein said connecting portion is constituted by a curved surface recessed in a direction toward a rotation center of said polygonal mirror.

16. A polygonal mirror according to claim 11, wherein said connecting portion is constituted by a plurality of surfaces recessed in a direction toward a rotation center of said polygonal mirror.
