SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DYNAMIC MANAGEMENT OF TRANSMIT POWER IN A NETWORK OF MOVING THINGS
First Claim
1. A method of operating a first node of a wireless network comprising a plurality of nodes, the method comprising:
- in the first node,receiving a packet for transmission to a second node of the plurality of nodes;
determining a RF transmit power level for use in transmitting the packet, wherein the RF transmit power level is determined is based on one or both of;
at least one adjustable RF transmit power level corresponding to the second node that is maintained at the first node; and
RF transmit power level information obtained from one or more other nodes of the plurality of nodes; and
wirelessly transmitting the received packet to the second node using the RF transmit power level.

Abstract
Methods and systems are provided for dynamic management of transmit power in a network of moving things. In a first node of a wireless network that includes a plurality of nodes, receiving a packet for transmission to a second node of the plurality of nodes, determining a RF transmit power level for use in transmitting the packet, and wirelessly transmitting the received packet to the second node using the RF transmit power level. The RF transmit power level may be determined is based on one or both of: at least one adjustable RF transmit power level corresponding to the second node that is maintained at the first node; and RF transmit power level information obtained from one or more other nodes of the plurality of nodes.
