Abstract

A composition having tissue repair activity, which is capable of promoting reactions associated with tissue repair, contains at least one selected from the group consisting of a first component that is a protein having a monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) activity, a second component that is a protein having the extracellular domain activity of sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-type lectin-9 (Siglec-9), and a third component that is at least one of chondroitin sulfate and chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan.

Claims

1. A method of treating a disease selected from the group consisting of hepatitis, severe hepatitis, hepatic cirrhosis, interstitial pneumonia, spinal cord injury, and an autoimmune disease, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a component comprising an extracellular domain activity of sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-type lectin-9 (Siglec-9), the component not having a cytoplasmic domain of Siglec-9.

2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the disease is an autoimmune disease selected from the group consisting of rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, type I diabetes, Sjogren'"'"'s syndrome, and systemic erythematosus.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein the disease is selected from the group consisting of hepatitis, severe hepatitis, hepatic cirrhosis, interstitial pneumonia, rheumatoid arthritis, and spinal cord injury.

4. The method according to claim 1, wherein the disease is rheumatoid arthritis.

5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the component comprises an extracellular domain of Siglec-9.

6. The method according to claim 5, wherein the component does not comprise a transmembrane domain of Siglec-9.

7. The method according to claim 5, wherein the extracellular domain of Siglec-9 has an amino acid sequence having 90% or more identity with the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:

8. The method according to claim 5, wherein the extracellular domain of Siglec-9 has the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:

9. The method according to claim 1, wherein the component comprises an amino acid sequence having 90% or more identity with the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:

10. The method according to claim 1, wherein the method further comprises administering to the subject a component comprising a monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) activity.

11. The method according to claim 10, wherein the component comprising an MCP-1 activity is MCP-1.

12. The method according to claim 11, wherein MCP-1 has an amino acid sequence having 90% or more identity with the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:

14. The method according to claim 10, wherein the component comprising an MCP-1 activity comprises an amino acid sequence having 90% or more identity with the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:

15. The method according to claim 9, wherein the component comprising an extracellular domain activity of Siglec-9 comprises an extracellular domain of Siglec-9 and the component comprising an MCP-1 activity is MCP-1.

16. The method according to claim 1, wherein the method further comprises administering to the subject at least one of chondroitin sulfate or chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan.

17. The method according to claim 10, wherein the method further comprises administering to the subject at least one of chondroitin sulfate or chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan.

18. The method according to claim 10, wherein the component comprising an extracellular domain activity of Siglec-9 and the component comprising a MCP-1 activity are administered simultaneously.

19. The method according to claim 10, wherein the component comprising an extracellular domain activity of Siglec-9 and the component comprising a MCP-1 activity are administered successively.
