Abstract

A printing apparatus including: a memory storing instructions; and a processor which is capable of executing the instructions causing the printing apparatus to: receive print data; save the received print data; authenticate a user; hold a setting of valid or invalid of an automatic printing function to perform printing processing of print data associated with the user without instructions from the user in response to authentication of the user; and control for making invalid the setting of the automatic printing function is performed, in a case where a setting of a predetermined function that needs to limit the use of the automatic printing function is performed.

Claims

1. A printing apparatus comprising:

a memory storing instructions; and

a processor which is capable of executing the instructions causing the printing apparatus to;

receive print data;

save the received print data;

authenticate a user;

hold a setting of valid or invalid of an automatic printing function to perform printing processing of print data associated with the user without instructions from the user in response to authentication of the user; and

control for making invalid the setting of the automatic printing function is performed, in a case where a setting of a predetermined function that needs to limit the use of the automatic printing function is performed.

2. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein

in response to execution of the setting of the predetermined function, a setting of valid of the automatic printing function that is held is changed to a setting of invalid.

3. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein

in a case where the setting of the predetermined function is performed, on a setting screen capable of receiving change instructions of the setting of the automatic printing function from a user, a display is produced so that the setting of the automatic printing function cannot be made valid.

4. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein

the setting of the predetermined function is a setting that limits the automatic printing function by the setting of the predetermined function being performed.

5. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein

the setting of the predetermined function includes a setting to receive an encrypted secure print job and not to receive a print job that is not an encrypted secure print job.

6. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein

the setting of the predetermined function includes a setting to receive a print job for which sharing is set in a department to which the user belongs and not to receive a print job for which sharing is not set in a department to which the user belongs.

7. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein

the setting of the predetermined function includes a setting to use a personal setting that can be set for each user.

8. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein

the setting of the predetermined function includes a setting to perform charging in a case where a print job is performed.

9. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein

the setting of the predetermined function includes a setting to impose a print setting restriction on a print job.

10. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein

the setting of the predetermined function includes a setting to display a warning in a case where a print job is performed.

11. A control method for a printing apparatus, the control method comprising:

receiving print data;

saving the received print data;

authenticating a user;

holding a setting of valid or invalid of an automatic printing function to perform printing processing of print data associated with the user without instructions from the user in response to authentication of the user; and

controlling for making invalid the setting of the automatic printing function is performed, in a case where a setting of a predetermined function that needs to limit the use of the automatic printing function is performed.

12. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium on which is stored a computer program for making a computer execute a control method for a printing apparatus, the control method comprising:

receiving print data;

saving the received print data;

authenticating a user;

holding a setting of valid or invalid of an automatic printing function to perform printing processing of print data associated with the user without instructions from the user in response to authentication of the user; and

controlling for making invalid the setting of the automatic printing function is performed, in a case where a setting of a predetermined function that needs to limit the use of the automatic printing function is performed.
