A MEASURING DEVICE COMPRISING A SOURCE OF HIGH FREQUENCY ELECTRICAL ENERGY, A TRANSFORMER HAVING A PRIMARY WINDING AND A CENTER-TAPPED SECONDARY WINDING, SAID PRIMARY WINDING BEING CONNECTED TO SAID SOURCE TO RECEIVE HIGH FREQUENCY CURRENT THEREFROM, A CAPACITOR DEVICE HAVING TWO PLATES AND A GROUNDED FOIL DISPOSED BETWEEN SAID PLATES AND SUBJECT TO DEFLECTION IN RESPONSE TO A FORCE BEING MEASURED, SAID SECONDARY WINDING AND SAID CAPACITOR DEVICE CONNECTED TOGETHER TO FORM LEGS OF A BRIDGE CIRCUIT, AMPLIFIER MEANS CONNECTED BETWEEN SAID SECONDARY CENTER-TAP AND GROUND OPERABLE TO SUPPLY A VOLTAGE INDICATIVE OF THE MAGNITUDE OF SAID FORCE, A POTENTIOMETER CONNECTED ACROSS THE PRIMARY OF SAID TRANSFORMER, AND MEANS CONNECTING THE MOVABLE TAP OF SAID POTENTIOMETER TO THE CENTER-TAP OF SAID SECONDARY WINDING.
