A PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A SUSPENSION COMPONENT WHICH COMPRISES THE STEPS OF PROVIDING A SINGLE SHEET OF SUBSTANTIALLY FLAT METAL PLATE, BLANKING A TENDEM SIDE RAIL FROM SAID PLATE, SAID SIDE RAIL COMPRISING A SUBSTANTIALLY FLAT PLANE OF SUBSTANTIALLY RECTANGULAR SHAPE, SAID SIDE RAIL INCLUDING A PLURALITY OF HANGER SECTIONS DEPENDING THEREFROM WITH A HANGER SECTION SUBSTANTIALLY DISPOSED AT EACH END THEREOF, EACH HANGER SECTION HAVING A SHAPE THAT DECREASES IN CROSS SECTION FROM TOP TO BOTTOM, ENDING IN A ROUNDED BOTTOM EDGE;

  • SIMULTANEOUSLY FORMING AN INTEGRAL LINING FLANGE COMPRISES A CURVE THAT SWEEPS FROM THE PLANE THE BOTTOM AND SIDE EDGES SUCH THAT IN CROSS SECTION THE LINING FLANGE COMPRISES A CURVE THAT SWEEPS FROM THE PLANE OF THE HANGER SECTION AND TERMINATES IN A STRAIGHT LINE THAT IS ORINETED AT AN ANGLE APPROACHING 90* WITH RESPECT TO THE PLANE OF THE HANGER SECTION;

    AND THEN FORMING UPPER AND LOWER RIGIDIFYING CHANNELS IN THE SIDE RAIL BY BRAKING THE UPPER EDGE OF THE SIDE RAIL, AND BY BRAKING THE LOWER EDGE OF THE SIDE RAIL IN AREAS OTHER THAN SAID HANGER SECTIONS, SAID REGIDIFYING CHANNELS BEING DISPOSED IN A DIRECTION THAT IS OPPOSITE TO THE DIRECTION OF SAID LINING FLANGE.
