1. In a color television system provided with a plurality of simultaneous primary color signal components matrixing apparatus comprising:

  • means for applying said primary color signal components to said matrixing apparatus;

    means for combining a first one of said color signal components with a second one of said color signal components;

    means for combining said first color signal component with a third one of said color signal components;

    means responsive to the amplitude and polarity of the outputs of each of said first-named and second-named signal combining means for providing a voltage indicative of the amplitude of the one of said first, second and third primary color signal components and of their complementary color signal components which is predominant in a televised scene when the outputs of said first and second-named combining means are of the same predetermined polarity;

    means coupled to said last-mentioned means for adjusting at least one of the amplitude and polarity of said indicative voltage and for providing an output voltage suitable for color control;

    adder circuit means; and

    means for coupling the output of said adjusting means and one of said primary color signal components to said adder circuit means.
