AUTOMATIC COMPUTING AND PRINTING SCALE HAVING PRICE-PER-WEIGHT UNIT AND PRICE-BY-QUANTITY MODES
First Claim
1. A computing and printing weighing scale system comprising, in combination, a computer, means for entering a weight factor in the computer, means for entering a price per weight unit factor or a price by quantity figure in the computer, the computer including means for producing electrical outputs in accordance with the product of said factors or in accordance with said figure, means electrically connected to the computer for printing said product or said figure, and programmer means including switch means having three settings, the programmer means in the first switch setting programming the system to weigh and compute and print said product, the second switch setting producing electrical signals for setting the printing means to blank printing positions as programmed by the programmer means, and the programmer means in the third switch setting programming the system to produce said electrical output in accordance with said figure and print said figure.

Abstract
A computing and printing weighing scale system including a computer, means for entering a weight factor in the computer and means for entering a price-per-weight unit factor, e.g., $1.23 per pound, or a price-by-quantity figure, e.g., one bunch for 23 cents, in the computer. The computer produces electrical outputs in accordance with the product of the factors or in accordance with the figure. A programmer operable in a first mode programs the system to weigh and compute and print the product and operable in a second mode programs the system to produce the electrical output in accordance with the figure and print the figure.
