- heating the gas mixture prior to passing the gas mixture through the sorbent material; and
commencing said step of passing said gas mixture, immediately after sorbent regeneration is completed.

Method for removing CO2 from air by passing said air through said sorbent material made by treating molecular sieve-type zeolite with aqueous solution of any alkali carbonate. The sorbent material may be regenerated repeatedly by passing either heated air or superheated steam therethrough.

- the regeneration effluent from said sorbent material column comprises steam and gaseous carbon dioxide;
said effluent being passed through a cooling condenser for condensing said steam and freeing said gaseous carbon dioxide.
