A fault detecting system for a road vehicle, comprising a plurality of fault transducers each producing in the event of a fault an output in the form of a voltage level, each of said transducers producing a different voltage level, so that the output produced by each transducer is unique, a receiving and display unit operable by said unique output for indicating each fault, and a single cable connecting all the transducers to the receiving and display unit.
