THE BROAD STIMULATED GAIN BRANDWIDTHS AVAILABLE IN GLASS SHOULD PERMIT THE CONSTRUCTION OF WIDEBAND FIBER AMPLIFERS AND RAMAN OSCILLATORS TURNABLE OVER A RANGE OF ABOUT 100 ANGSTROMS.
