1. A universal mastarm bracket for mounting traffic signal lights and the like comprising:
- an elongated member threaded adjacent each of its ends;
a first fitting having a tubular collar thereon threadedly connected to one end of said elongated member to facilitate adjustment of said first fitting'"'"''"'"'s position therealong and projecting substantially normal to the longitudinal axis of said elongated member, said first fitting being adapted to movably engage one end of a fixture;
a second fitting threadedly secured to the second threaded end portion of said elongated member for adjustable positioning along the length of said member and selective spacing from said first fitting along the length of said elongated member, said second fitting projecting substantially normal to the longitudinal axis of said elongated member, and said second fitting being adapted to engage a second end of a fixture engaged by said first fitting; and
clamp means adjustably secured to said member between said first and second fittings, and selectively positionable along the length of said member, said clamp means including;
at least one pair of variable length chains; and
means for connecting the ends of each chain pair around a supporting mast or the like for tensioning said chains.

Abstract
A universal mastarm bracket for mounting traffic signal lights or the like on mastarms, the bracket including an elongated member threaded at its opposite ends, a pair of fixture retaining end pieces threadedly engaged at opposite ends of the member, a mastarm clamp means, including variable length chains for extending around and frictionally engaging a mastarm, and means for adjustably securing said mastarm clamp means in a selected location along the length of said elongated member.

1. A universal mastarm bracket for mounting traffic signal lights and the like comprising:
- an elongated member threaded adjacent each of its ends;
a first fitting having a tubular collar thereon threadedly connected to one end of said elongated member to facilitate adjustment of said first fitting'"'"''"'"'s position therealong and projecting substantially normal to the longitudinal axis of said elongated member, said first fitting being adapted to movably engage one end of a fixture;
a second fitting threadedly secured to the second threaded end portion of said elongated member for adjustable positioning along the length of said member and selective spacing from said first fitting along the length of said elongated member, said second fitting projecting substantially normal to the longitudinal axis of said elongated member, and said second fitting being adapted to engage a second end of a fixture engaged by said first fitting; and
clamp means adjustably secured to said member between said first and second fittings, and selectively positionable along the length of said member, said clamp means including;
at least one pair of variable length chains; and
means for connecting the ends of each chain pair around a supporting mast or the like for tensioning said chains.

- a clamp plate assembly slidably mounted on said member and including;
tensioning means for clamping opposed parts of said assembly on said member to resist sliding movement therealong; and
a threaded protuberance projecting substantially normal to the longitudinal axis of said member;
a threaded collar threadedly engaging said threaded protuberance and having one end of each of the chains in said chain pair connected thereto; and
means for securing said collar against rotation on said threaded protuberance in a selected location.

- a clamp plate assembly slidably mounted on said elongated member and including;
tensioning means for clamping opposed parts of said assembly on opposite sides of said elongated member to resist sliding movement therealong; and
a threaded protuberance projecting substantially normal to the longitudinal axis of said elongated member;
a threaded collar threadedly engaging said threaded protuberance and having one end of each of the chains in said chain pair connected thereto;
means for securing said collar against rotation on said threaded protuberance; and
an concave anchor plate secured to said collar and rotatable therewith on said threaded protuberance, said anchor plate having two pairs of said variable length chains secured to opposite sides thereof.

5. A universal mastarm bracket for mounting traffic signal lights in various selected positions on mastarms of various sizes comprising:
- an elongated member having threaded end portions at opposite ends thereof;
a first fitting having an open end passing around and threadedly engaging a first end portion of said elongated member and projecting normal to the longitudinal axis thereof, said first fitting being adapted to movably engage one end of a signal light fixture to facilitate movement of said fixture about an axis extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of said elongated member;
a second fitting having an end extending around said elongated member and threadedly engaged with a second end portion of said elongated member, said second fitting being adjustably threaded on said elongated member for selective spacing from said first fitting along the length of said elongated member, said second fitting being adapted to movably engage a second end of a signal light fixture to facilitate movement of said fixture about an axis extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of said elongated member; and
a multi-part clamp means adjustably secured to said elongated member for selective positioning along the length thereof and including;
first plate means on one side of said elongated member;
second plate means on the opposite side of said elongated member from said first plate means;
means for drawing said first and second plate means toward each other to clamp said elongated member therebetween; and
flexible means for detachably connecting one of said plate means to mastarms of varying diametric sizes.

6. A pole-supported traffic control device comprising:
- a traffic control fixture; and
a bracket for securing said fixture to a mastarm, said bracket comprising;
an elongated, vertically extending member;
fittings at opposite ends of said vertically extending member engaging opposite ends of said traffic control fixture; and
clamp means adjustably secured to said vertically extending member between said fittings disposed at opposite ends thereof, and selectively positionable along the length of said member, said clamp means including;
a clamp plate assembly slidably mounted on said elongated member, having two opposed parts, and further including tensioning means for clamping said opposed parts of said assembly on opposite sides of said elongated vertical member to resist sliding movement therealong;
a threaded protuberance projecting from one of said opposed parts in a direction substantially normal to the longitudinal axis of said elongated member;
a threaded collar threadedly engaging said threaded protuberance;
means for securing said collar against rotation on said threaded protuberance; and
a concave anchor plate secured to said collar and rotatable therewith on said threaded protuberance;
at least one pair of variable length chains having one of their ends connected to said anchor plate; and
means cooperating with said anchor plate and chains for extending said chains to define a loop on one side of said anchor plate to encircle a mastarm or the like bearing against said anchor plate.
