A method of stimulating the release of luteinizing hormone in a warm blooded mammal which comprises administering to said mammal an effective amount for stimulating luteinizing hormone secretion of a material selected from the class consisting of H-Ala-Gly-Cys-Lys-Asn-Phe-Phe-Trp-Lys-Thr-Phe-Thr-Ser-Cys-OH, H-Ala-Gly-Cys-Lys-Asn-Phe-Phe-Trp-Lys-Thr-Phe-Thr-Ser-Cys-OH, H-Ala-Gly-Cys(S-CH2-COOH)-Lys-Asn-Phe-Phe-Trp-Lys-Thr-Phe-Thr-Ser-Cys(S -CH2COOH)-OH and the non-toxic acid addition salts thereof, said material being administered either orally, intravenously, subcutaneously or intramuscularly.
