Blood ammonia is quantitatively determined by contacting a sample suspected of containing blood ammonia, with glutamate dehydrogenase, Alpha -ketoglutarate, and, as a coenzyme in the reduced state, nicotinamide-adenine-dinucleotide phosphate in reduced form.
