An improved filtration assembly for filtering molten metal comprising a filter chamber having a bevelled wall surface adapted to be partitioned by a ceramic foam filter plate, said filter plate having an open cell structure comprising a plurality of interconnected voids having an air permeability in the range of 400 to 8,000 ×
