1. The process for the production of polyurethane-cellulose-silicate cellular solid or solid product by the following steps:

  • (a) mixing 3 parts by weight of a cellulose-containing plant with 1 to 2 parts by weight of an oxidated silicon compound and 2 to 5 parts by weight of an alkali metal hydroxide,(b) heating the mixture at 150°

    C. to 220°

    C. while agitating for 5 to 60 minutes, thereby(c) producing a water-soluble alkali metal-cellulose-silicate condensation product;

    adding water to produce 10 parts by weight of an aqueous solution, containing 20% to 60% by weight of the alkali metal-cellulose-silicate condensation product, then(e) mixing the aqueous alkali metal-cellulose-silicate solution with 10 to 100 parts by weight of an isocyanate-terminated polyurethane prepolymer and 0.001 to 0.01 parts by weight of an amine allowed to react, thereby(f) producing a polyurethane-cellulose-silicate solid or solid product.
