1. A contour vibration mode piezoelectric resonator comprising:

  • a vibrating portion having opposed relatively short sides and opposed relatively long sides, at least one supporting portion, and at least one bridge portion connecting the vibrating and supporting portions;

    said vibrating, supporting and bridge portions all being integrally formed as a single piece;

    wherein the supporting portion comprises a resilient portion connected to substantially the center of one short side of the vibrating portion through said bridge portion, an attenuation portion connected to said resilient portion, and a fixing portion connected to or forming a part of the attenuation portion; and

    wherein the relationship between the width W of the short side of the vibrating portion, the width W0 of the bridge portion, and the length L1 and the width W1 of the resilient portion is represented by;
