A process for producing an enzymatically active membrane which consists in mixing together 1-20 weight percent of acrylamide, 1-20 weight percent of polyvinylalcohol, 0.01-10 weight percent of bovine albumin, 0.0001-5 weight percent of an enzyme, 0.1-5 weight percent of glutaric aldehyde, a polymerization initiating amount of potassium persulfate and the remainder to 100 weight percent of distilled water, spreading the mixture on a protein membrane found in nature to form a thin sheet and allowing the mixture to react for 12 hours at room temperature.
