A laryngoscope for endotracheal intubation comprising an elongated blade shaped to fit into the oral pharynx of a patient and a handle, said handle comprising a rigid handle section attached to one end of said blade and a movable handle section pivotally mounted to said rigid handle section and adapted to pivot about an axis being both substantially perpendicular to the length of said rigid handle section and extending in substantially the same direction as the length of said blade and means for locking said movable handle section during use of said laryngoscope.
