1. A light controlling shutter system comprising:

  • drive means for placing said shutter in a given light passing state in response to an applied drive input signal,first control means responsive to the intensity of light passed by said shutter for generating a first drive means input signal having one value for opening the shutter in response to a decrease in intensity of light passed by said shutter and a second value for closing the shutter in response to an increase in intensity of light passed by said shutter, andsecond control means responsive to the intensity of said light to be controlled for generating a second drive means input signal having a third value when said light to be controlled has a level below a given threshold to close the shutter, said first and second control means including means for overriding said first input signal with said second input signal when said second input signal has said third value.
