The method of sterilizing a product which comprisesplacing the product incorporating in the package a first sterilization medium comprising a solution containing 0.01 to 0.1% by weight of hydrogen peroxide in an inert liquid solvent in the absence of a second sterilizing medium,hermetically sealing said package, and allowing said package to stand at a temperature at least as high as room temperature for a time sufficient to provide complete sterilization of the contents of said package.
