1. A process for the preparation of polyurethanes which comprises reacting an organic diisocyanate with a polycaprolactone polyol having a narrow molecular weight distribution in which the ratio of the weight average molecular weight to the number average molecular weight is in the range of from 1.1 to 2.0 and the average molecular weight is 500 to 5,000, said polycaprolactone polyol having been prepared by subjecting a lactone to ring-opening polymerization in the presence of 0.1 to 50 ppm of stannous halide selected from the group consisting of stannous chloride, stannous bromide and stannous iodide, as a catalyst, and at a temperature of from 100°
