1. A process for the separation of oils from seeds containing extractible oils, which comprises steps for contacting the seeds in a presoaking zone with an isopropanol-based presoak solvent to obtain presoaked seeds, extracting the presoaked seeds by contact with an isopropanol-based extraction solvent containing between about 10 and 20 percent by weight water in a multi-stage countercurrent extraction zone to obtain an extraction miscella and an extracted seed meal, and recovering oils from the extraction miscella, under the provision that the weight ratio of water to isopropanol in the presoak solvent is less than the weight ratio of water to isopropanol in the extraction miscella.
