1. A process for separating plasma or serum from whole blood, comprising:

  • trickling blood slowly onto a layer of glass fibers with an average diameter of 0.2 to 5μ and

    a density of 0.1 to 0.5 g./cm3, the total volume of the plasma or serum to be separated being at most 50% of the absorption volume of the glass fiber layer; and

    collecting the run-through from the glass fiber layer which is plasma or serum.
