A method for electronically controlling the quantity of fuel supply to an internal combustion engine including detecting a temperature of the engine, detecting an abnormality in an engine temperature detecting signal, employing a dummy signal indicative of engine temperature in place of said temperature detecting signal when said abnormality is detected, and increasing the quantity of fuel being supplied to the engine with the lapse of time by the use of dummy signal.
