1. A transducer responsive to a mechanical input for producing a binary coded electrical signal comprising;

  • a plurality of piezoelectric elements each capable of producing a voltage pulse when stressed,a snap spring coupled to each piezoelectric element for applying stress thereto,actuator means for sequentially applying stress to the piezoelectric elements via the snap springs in a predetermined order to generate a sequence of voltage pulses, andmeans for electrically coupling the elements to a signal conductor according to polarity to establish a coded sequence of polarized pulses.
