1. A method of promoting the heat transfer of a heat transfer tube used in a vapor-liquid condensation system which comprises the step of treating a gas-condensing surface of the heat transfer tube with a heat transfer promoter containing a triazine-dithiol derivative represented by the general formula ##STR5## wherein R represents --NHR'"'"' or --NR2 '"'"' wherein:

  • R'"'"' is a hydrocarbon group;

    M is selected from hydrogen, alkali metals, and alkaline earth metals; and

    at least one of M groups is an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal.
