1. A composite web for use in the manufacture of laminar batteries, said composite web comprising an elongated sheet of thermoplastic liquid impermeable electrically insulating material formed with a spaced array of apertures extending in rows across said sheet and in columns along said sheet, an electrode assembly adhered to said sheet around the peripheries of each of said apertures, each electrode assembly comprising a piece of electrically conducting electrochemically inert thermoplastic sheet material uniformly coated on one side opposite the side adjacent said elongated sheet with a layer of electrochemically active particles in a binder, and a plurality of sheets of battery separator material each adhered to said elongated sheet over a different one of said electrode assemblies and confronting the electrode particle coating on the adjacent electrode assembly, said separator sheet having peripheries extending beyond the boundaries of said electrode assemblies and each being secured to confronting regions of said elongated sheet by spaced strips of adhesive material.
