1. A flame retarded poly(1,4-butylene terephthalate) resin molding composition having an improved comparative tracking index consisting essentially of:

  • (a) poly(1,4-butylene terephthalate) resin;

    (b) a flame retarding amount of halogenated aromatic flame retardant;

    (c) an effective amount of antimony compound synergist; and

    (d) an effective amount of titanium dioxide powder to raise the comparative tracking index of said molding composition, said effective amount being from about 3.5 to about 6.5 parts by weight of said titanium dioxide powder for each 85 parts by weight of said poly (1,4-butylene terephthalate) resin and said halogenated aromatic flame retardant.
