The optical transmission element (AD) comprises a light waveguide (LW) provided with a cushion layer (PS), said light waveguide being positioned within a hard sheath (HL). A glide layer (GS) is provided between said sheath (HL) and said cushion layer (PS). The sheath (HL) is of a material having a modulus of elasticity greater than 2000 N/mm2 and a coefficient of thermal expansion less than 0.8×10-4 /°K.
