1. A synthetic resin composition having reduced corrosion-causing tendency and coloration, said composition comprising(A) 100 parts by weight of a synthetic resin containing halogen and/or an acidic substance derived from at least one kind of catalysts, monomers and post-treating agents, and(B) 0.001 to 50 parts by weight of a hydrotalcite solid solution represented by the following formula (1)
wherein M12+ represents at least one divalent metal cation selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba, M22+ represents at least one divalent metal cation selected from the group consisting of Zn, Cd, Pb and Sn, M3+ represents a trivalent metal cation, An- represents an anion having a valency of n, and x, y1, Y2 and m are positive numbers represented by the following expressions

Abstract
A synthetic resin composition having reduced corrosion-causing tendency and coloration, said composition comprising (A) 100 parts by weight of a synthetic resin containing halogen and/or an acidic substance, and (B) 0.001 to 50 parts by weight of a hydrotalcite solid solution represented by the following formula (1)

- 1. A synthetic resin composition having reduced corrosion-causing tendency and coloration, said composition comprising

- 8. The composition of claim 1 wherein the hydrotalcite solid solution has a BET specific surface area of not more than about 30 m2 /g and an average secondary particle diameter of not more than about 5 micrometers.
- 10. The composition of claim 1 wherein in formula (1) M12+ is Mg, M22+ is Zn, M3+ is Al and An- is CO3.
- 11. The composition of claim 1 wherein the hydrotalcite solid solution is
Mg0.5 Zn0.17 Al0.33 (OH)2 (CO3)0.165, Mg0.55 Zn0.15 Al0.3 (OH)2 (CO3)0.17, Mg0.50 Zn0.18 Al0.32 (OH)2 (CO3)0.16, Mg0.52 Zn0.16 Al0.32 (OH)2 (CO3)0.16, Mg0.48 Zn0.18 Al0.34 (OH)2 (CO3)0.17 or Mg0.51 Zn0.17 Al0.32 (OH)2 (CO3)0.16.

A method for preventing the corrosion-causing tendency or coloration of a synthetic resin containing halogen and/or an acidic substance derived from at least one kind of catalysts, monomers and post-treating agents, which comprises incorporating 0.001 to 50 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of said resin, of a hydrotalcite solid solution represented by the following formula (1)
