Cellular mobile phone with a plurality of accessing telephone numbers for allowing access to the mobile phone by any one of the telephone numbers
First Claim
1. In a cellular mobile phone unit having a microprocessor for controlling the reception and transmission of signals from and to a base unit, wherein the improvement comprises:
- a plurality of number assignment modules operatively coupled to said microprocessor;
each of said number assignment modules providing a unique telephone number by which access to said cellular mobile phone unit and by which access from said cellular mobile phone unit may be provided; and
means for switching between each of said plurality of number assignment modules for selectively coupling a chosen one of said number assignment modules to said microprocessor, whereby said cellular mobile phone unit may have a plurality of telephone numbers associated therewith.

Abstract
An adapter for a cellular mobile phone unit which converts the unit to include a plurality of telephone numbers. A main circuit board is coupled to a microprocessor of the unit, which board includes a plurality of number assignment modules, or NAM'"'"'s (ROM'"'"'s), each NAM having its own unique telephone number code. The NAM'"'"'s are connected such that fifteen of the sixteen pin-connections of each NAM are correspondingly and respectively connected in series, for coupling to the fifteen pin-connections of a plug at one end of a ribbon cable, the other end of the ribbon cable being coupled to the microprocessor of the unit via the conventional NAM connection therefor. Each remaining pin of each NAM, which is not connected in series, is connected to a unique stop of a multi-position switch, so that a selected one of the NAM'"'"'s may be coupled to the microprocessor in order to change the telephone number from one to another. A secondary relay printed circuit board may also be provided to allow for remote switching from one NAM to another. The principles are also applicable to a personal computer'"'"'s expansion slots, where a plurality of dedicated ROM chips may be selectively accessed by the microprocessor via the same address location.

10. An adapter for converting a cellular mobile phone unit having one telephone number thereof into a unit having a plurality of telephone numbers, which telephone numbers may each be independently activated, comprising:
-
a plurality of separate means for storing a unique telephone number therein; means for selecting one of said plurality of means for storing a telephone number; and coupling means for coupling said plurality of separate means to a user number input portion of a microprocessor of a mobile unit; said means for coupling also being operatively coupled to said means for selecting any one of said separate means for storing a telephone number, so that any one of said plurality of means for storing a telephone number may be activated and coupled to a microprocessor of a mobile unit. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17)

18. A method for multiplying the number of telephone numbers of a cellular mobile telephone unit, which cellular mobile telephone unit comprises a microprocessor for controlling the transmission and reception of signals, said method comprising:
-
coupling a plurality of number assignment modules to a microprocessor, each of said number assignment modules providing a unique telephone number by which access to said cellular mobile telephone unit and by which access from said cellular mobile telephone unit may be provided; and selecting one of the plurality of number assignment modules for coupling to a microprocessor. - View Dependent Claims (19, 20, 21, 22)

23. In a cellular mobile phone unit having a microprocessor for controlling the reception and transmission of signals from and to a base unit, the improvement comprising:
-
means for providing a plurality of unique telephone numbers to said cellular mobile phone unit, so that said cellular mobile phone unit may have a plurality of distinct telephone numbers by which said cellular mobile phone unit may access at least one cellular system and be accessed therefrom, each said telephone number being a unique and distinct telephone user number allowing access to the same cellular mobile phone unit; means for coupling said means for providing a plurality of telephone numbers to said microprocessor, said means for coupling selectively choosing which of the plurality of telephone numbers is to be coupled to said microprocessor; said means for coupling further comprising means for choosing which of said plurality of telephone numbers is coupled to said microprocessor; and said means for providing a plurality of telephone number storing said plurality of telephone numbers simultaneously and fixedly for providing access to any of the telephone numbers by said microprocessor via said means for coupling, whereby a user of said cellular mobile phone unit may change his telephone number in order to receive incoming calls by any of said plurality of telephone numbers, and to also make outgoing calls by any of said plurality of telephone numbers when said means for coupling couples a respective one of said plurality of telephone numbers to said microprocessor.
